This photoshoot featuring the Fatui Marionette Sandrone was taken at the Nine-Layered Dreamscape Art Exhibition, and the final shots perfectly recreate the venue's innate eerie ambiance. This Genshin Impact Sandrone Cosplay costume crafted by Miaowu Shop put a lot of effort into fabric selection and layering. The primary color scheme features the classic Fatui palette of black, white, red, and gold. The upper body adopts an off-shoulder style combined with a high-collared choker, adorned with intricate red gemstone decorations and gold line trimming across the chest and waist. The detachable sleeves feature voluminous ruffled cuffs on the inner layer, creating exceptional visual tension when spreading my arms. The skirt hem employs multi-tiered tailoring with stacked black ruffle trims over a white base, worn over white pantyhose and paired with black platform strap high heels, visibly shifting the visual weight downward.
The background design for this shoot was another major highlight. The centerpiece of the venue was a spider-shaped prop composed of a bridal gown sculpture and massive off-white arthropod limbs, intertwined with dense faux white cobwebs. This set arrangement fits exceptionally well with Genshin Impact Marionette Sandrone's lore as a controller of machinery and puppets. A pitch-black studio backdrop coupled with intense direct overhead lighting gave the black, white, and red outfit striking 3D depth under high contrast. Photographer @Qianhe balanced costume details and large background props masterfully in composition—preventing the giant spider legs from overshadowing the subject while preserving the environment's oppressive, mysterious atmosphere.
For these shots, I deliberately posed with arms slightly raised and extended outwards to highlight my white gloves and exaggerated cuffs. Combined with slightly lowered eyes and an indifferent expression, I aimed to present the authoritative and controlling posture of a puppet mistress. Executing this pose required significant body control, as the oversized sleeves and voluminous skirt hem could easily bump into adjacent spider leg props. Moreover, standing on the studio's smooth black hardwood floor while wearing platform strap high heels required constant core adjustment to maintain balance.
Attaching headpieces was delicate work—white and black ribbons with metallic ornaments had to be firmly secured to the wig, prohibiting large head movements that could shift them out of alignment. Fortunately, I pinned everything securely beforehand. The light brown long straight hair with blunt bangs complements the character's temperament well. For eye makeup, I intensified red and pink eyeshadow tones, which, paired with a cold gaze, better projected the distinctive aloofness of a Genshin Impact Fatui Harbinger.
To be honest, I felt a bit apprehensive before the shoot seeing that massive bridal spider prop, but standing under the spotlight made entering character effortless. The immense prop served as a natural aura amplifier, while the dark backdrop made both character and giant spider legs pop dramatically. The tension created by intersecting light and shadow aligned perfectly with Sandrone's lore. During breaks, I explored other areas of the Nine-Layered Dreamscape Art Exhibition—its lighting and installations are truly photogenic. The photographer's lighting setup was remarkably clean, handling light-dark contrast between subject and props with precision. Post-production aimed to preserve raw image texture without overusing soft focus or heavy filters, prioritizing the costume's material details and the cool-toned atmosphere against the black background. Overall, this was a deeply satisfying shoot; portraying a character through body language and facial expressions within such a professional light-and-shadow environment brings immense accomplishment.
