[Gongsun Li Cosplay] Honor of Kings Dance Among Flowers Booth Moments at BW 2026 - Image 2

Under the booth lights of BW 2026, putting on this set of Dance Among Flowers gear created a certain connection with the character Gongsun Li once again. I decided to share this set of images and want to hear which of these two photos with different vibes you prefer. There were actually some minor unexpected moments during this shoot; for instance, the lighting at the exhibition venue was quite messy, requiring the industrial overhead lighting to work together with the on-site lighting to restore the patterns on the skirt hem and the hair color. Fortunately, the photographer captured several great moments on site, which, paired with that round white plush rug under my feet, gave the overall image a slight sense of an independent stage.
The pose in figure one uses a single-leg standing balance, requiring the core center of gravity to be pressed very steadily. This outfit's skirt hem has many layers, with the outer layer being dark blue ruffles sewn with three-dimensional blue roses, plus a white inner lining, which together with that ultra-large handmade flower prop actually feels quite heavy when waved around. The white plush rabbit ears, gradient long stockings, and the blue ankle accessories are all highlights of this outfit.
As for figure two, a visual illusion effect was incorporated into this shot, with floating petals added in post-production. Many fellow enthusiasts might feel this pose is more agile, giving the feeling of dancing in the air. However, as the person actually wearing this outfit, I must say that maintaining this mid-air sitting posture places extremely high demands on core muscle strength. Coupled with the bare feet and anti-slip requirements, executing such movements on a crowded booth indeed required several rounds of practice and adjustment. But the final effect is very ethereal, with the blue petals and the giant blue flower forming a great visual unity.
Speaking of restoring this Dance Among Flowers skin, the official original setting has many details. For example, the small blue flowers on the headpiece and the ribbons at the waist—I modified them as much as possible on the basis of the purchased costume. The lightness of this Dance Among Flowers skin in the game actually tests the drape of the fabric, so I deliberately chose heavy chiffon and satin materials for patchwork. The flower in my hand was actually DIY'ed by myself; to match the effect of the booth lighting, I intentionally chose blue crinkle paper with a certain reflective effect to make it look more full of life than ordinary paper flowers.
On a booth like BW 2026, facing the camera, the greatest feeling is to externalize the character's temperament. Gongsun Li herself gives off an agile and playful feel, yet she carries a touch of elegance. In designing the positioning and gaze, I tried my best to discard that overly sweet idol-like business expression, instead using a calm and composed look to interact with the camera. Photos shot this way, whether close-ups or full-body, will be more enduringly beautiful.
However, I know many people also have a certain nostalgic filter for classic character skins. Every time I cosplay this character, I can hear the cheers of the live audience. But in fact, besides taking photos, I also pay attention to maintaining the integrity of this cosplay on site, especially when holding that huge prop flower, always afraid of bumping into nearby tourists or exhibitors' displays. Although there are many inconveniences, this is probably where the fun of cosplay lies—bringing a flat game character into a realistic three-dimensional space in a solid, vivid form. And whenever I see these lights and shadows captured in the camera, I feel that standing at the venue for so long, the sweat spilled, and the physical soreness all have their value. I hope this set of images can preserve the atmosphere of the scene at that time.
