[March 7th cosplay] A Dream Collaboration in Honkai: Star Rail — Meeting My Evernight

I can finally share the full photo set from this duo photoshoot featuring March 7th cosplay and Evernight cosplay from Honkai: Star Rail. The concept behind this shoot wasn't purely focused on strict accuracy, but rather creating a custom design interpretation infused with personal aesthetic preferences. Portraying March 7th, what mattered most to me was the layering of the pink wig. I selected a wig with gradient bangs shaped into subtle side-swept curtain bangs along the edges, giving the hairstyle a fluffy, doll-like airiness compared to the original game model while preserving her iconic short hair silhouette, resulting in a very playful look on camera.

Regarding makeup and styling details, I opted for a rich doll-like makeup look this time. Wearing blue colored contacts paired with generous lower eyeshadow and blush blending was a crucial step. To match the soft, cute atmosphere of this custom design, I placed eyeliner emphasis on the outer ends and drawn-on lower lashes. Enhanced by soft focus filters, the enlarged pupils appear remarkably translucent on camera, making smiles even more infectious. The costume features a pink, white, and blue palette, centered visually on a huge golden bell adorned with a clover buckle at the chest. The metallic luster and water-ripple reflections on the bell's surface gained a rich texture after color grading. Meanwhile, the fluffy white fingerless gloves on my hands, featuring pink cat paw prints on the palms, serve as a delightful bonus. Whether holding props or resting against my cheeks, their cozy cuteness perfectly fits the tone of this Cosplay outfit sharing.

Pairing up with my friend's Evernight cosplay created a clever visual contrast. My March 7th leans bright and cute, whereas her dark suit over a white shirt, paired with long purple hair and crimson pupils, exudes a cooler, sleeker aura. The black-and-purple dominant tone merged seamlessly in frame with my pink-blue-white palette, creating a marvelous complementary effect. In designing our duo composition for this Dream collaboration, we intentionally chose interactions reminiscent of a mirrored connection—interlocked hands captured with a wide-aperture close-up directly conveyed the deep character bonds through body language. Every finger angle and head tilt was carefully calibrated to evoke a natural, effortless, and innately harmonious chemistry.

Ambient lighting during the shoot was crucial; we found a large bay window location, using diffuse natural light as the primary light source. Because the soft light wasn't harsh, post-processing required minimal highlight suppression to showcase the silky wig texture and skin's natural translucency. During editing, I applied subtle soft focus to soften harsh edge lines, aiming to make each photograph resemble a dreamy illustration rather than a cold camera capture. Background wallpaper and stray color tones were purposefully brightened and purified, preventing clutter from distracting from the main focus.

As a custom design cosplay in the anime space, concerns about being out-of-character (OOC) are inevitable, so I strived to closely align styling and makeup with her original essence while infusing my own understanding of character bonds. Working with my partner on this Dream collaboration was immensely enjoyable—from wig trimming to final edits, we put great effort into calibrating costume and prop symmetry. Even with custom design elements, it doesn't diminish the dreamy, vibrant energy these photos radiate. Simply enjoying the process of bringing beloved characters into reality and creating a dialogue between them in the same frame is more than enough. Every detail in this set holds a special place in my heart, leaving behind many wonderful memories.
