The sound of wind and rain brought by the typhoon day makes the indoor environment appear exceptionally quiet instead. It's just perfect to calm down and organize this set of Ruan Mei cosplay photos from before. Having received instructions from "Mommy Ruan Mei", everyone must pay attention to safety on a typhoon day, minimize going out, and stay in a safe place. If you absolutely must go out, please be sure to watch out for falling objects from high altitudes and flooded road sections. In such special weather, let me use this carefully prepared Ancient style photography work to accompany everyone through a cozy and peaceful weekend.

This set of photos was taken in a professional Chinese-style practical studio. From the wooden geometric openwork lattices to the suspended semi-transparent calligraphy gauze drapes, and down to the pink-purple artificial flower branches accented in the background, every detail is striving to restore that cross-dimensional, antique sense of immersion. We calibrated the studio's lighting for a long time, finally settling on this ambient light intertwined with cool purple and soft warm yellow. This cool-toned fill light hits the plush rug and reflects back onto the person's skin, which not only makes the skin tone appear translucent without looking greasy, but also gives the deep green-blue texture of the costume a more composed feel.

Speaking of this outfit, to match the character's temperament, the choice of materials was very particular. The main body adopts a very skin-brightening deep green-blue fabric, paired with delicate white lace patchwork at the collar, cuffs, and skirt hem, which is both elegant and softly beautiful. That off-the-shoulder design perfectly reveals the outline of the collarbones, making the overall silhouette look more slender and delicate. The clothing is also adorned with some white 3D flower embroidery, along with a vintage emerald necklace on the chest. The combination of these accessories instantly maxes out the completion level of the entire outfit.

The several sets of props used in this shoot are also highly interesting. For example, the round fan held in Figure 2 features a fresh light-purple floral pattern with long pink tassels cascading from the edge. When holding this fan, whether lightly raising the arm or letting it hang down naturally, it brings agility to the frame. The custom pipa prop held in Figure 4 is an even bigger highlight; the color scheme and patterns of the instrument body almost completely echo the dress. This musical instrument prop actually carries a certain weight; when restoring a pose like "sitting quietly and playing the lute," the body needs to remain stable, and the core of the waist and abdomen needs to apply some force to make the instrument and the person's posture complement each other, avoiding a visual imbalance due to gravity.

The selection of postures during the shoot also underwent careful consideration. Aside from the languidness of semi-lying down in Figure 3, the composition of crossing legs and slightly tilting the body in Figure 2, paired with high heels and pearl chains on the ankles, both beautifully extends the visual proportion of the legs and showcases the overall elegance and temperament. Figure 1 chose a kneeling posture paired with white gloves, giving a serene and dignified feeling. Different movements all hope to convey the multi-faceted nature of the character.

In terms of accessories, the white bead string hair accessory on the side of the head and the deep green streaks at the ends of the hair set each other off, giving the hairstyle a sense of layers. Long gloves and short gloves are worn alternately, capable of expressing completely different hand movement details when shooting different poses. These seemingly inconspicuous small accessories are actually precisely the key to imbuing cosplay works with a soul.

In fact, every single release consumes a lot of energy in early preparation, costume, makeup, props, lighting, and on-site positioning. But when looking back at the photos with soft lighting and delicate textures from the camera playback one by one, I feel that all previous efforts were entirely worth it. Although the typhoon day blocks everyone's footsteps from going out, staying at home and calming down to flip through these exquisite photos is also a wonderful way to relax. I hope that while paying attention to safety, everyone can also feel a bit of the carefully polished Chinese-style cosplay aesthetics in this work.
