Misaki's JK look in Blue Archive has always been a version I really wanted to challenge, and this time, taking advantage of the clearing weather, I have finally brought this heart's desire to fruition.

The overall tone setup for this shoot was very clear, primarily highlighting a refreshing school style and natural light and shadow. Because the character herself carries an introverted yet somewhat persistent trait, I didn't deliberately pursue exaggerated ranges in action design. The outfit selected is a standard white short-sleeved shirt paired with a navy pleated skirt, the tie is a deep blue base with white stripes, paired with a pair of platform loafers and white knee-high socks, making the overall feel very classic and clean. The iconic double buns on top of the head plus the two long, dripping dark-green gradient ponytails actually pose a quite high requirement for wig styling, especially ensuring that the stray hairs of the bangs and sideburns fit the face shape to reflect that unique temperament of the character. The wig stylist spent nearly an hour organizing it back and forth to make these hair strands look both lustrous and free of frizz under the sunlight.

In terms of makeup, the focus was placed on the eye makeup and blush. Misaki's blush is truly the soul; we deliberately deepened the pinkish-red tones under the eyes and on the cheeks. Since it is easy to lose makeup under outdoor strong light, we applied it more heavily than usual, and the frequency of touching up makeup was also much higher. The eyeliner was drawn slightly more gently, cooperating with the slightly red outer corners of the eyes, so the resulting effect won't look too sharp, but instead carries a bit of a youthful feel, which is also a part I am quite satisfied with regarding this makeup look.

Because as mentioned before, I love sunny days very much, so the shooting location was selected at an outdoor location with large steps. The steps happen to provide an excellent sense of depth and geometric lines, and the white stone steps reflect cleanly under the midday big sun, beautifully highlighting the figure's dark clothes and hair, forming a relatively strong contrast of light and dark. Although the overhead light under the big sun can be extremely intense and easily cast harsh shadows on the face if handled slightly poorly, the photographer @YunRanRan's control over light was still very solid, using a reflector to help supplement the facial shadows very softly, which is how these moments of interwoven light and shadow were captured. Especially when looking along the light, even the edges of the hair strands carry a golden texture; I love the sense of light in this set of photos very much.

Because the shooting time was relatively long, the hair always playfully ran all over the place during the process of movement, leading me to repeatedly adjust the position of the ponytails between many crouching and standing movements; this detail probably truly bothered the photographer and me for quite some time during the shoot. The photographer Wu Bao's movements were caught very accurately, such as kneeling on one knee on the steps to look at the lens, casually tugging a strand of the hair tail, or relaxedly opening up the arms—these movements were all naturally revealed during chatting and joking, without intentional posing. I also incidentally took a blue canvas handbag as a prop, which not only echoes the tie in color but also gives the hands a place to be settled when standing or sitting. Actually, there wasn't much packed inside the bag, just some small things used during shooting, but in the frame, it beautifully balances the structure of the entire large scene.

For this kind of JK-oriented outdoor shoot simulating a daily feel, I prefer a relaxed state of mind. When shooting, you don't need to think too much; just treat it as a momentary rest during a class break. Don't be afraid to release your expressions and movements in places with light; conversely, it is in this kind of natural snapshot that it is easier to find the feeling of the character. The sunshine, steps, wind, and accidentally passing pedestrians constitute a very warm but not noisy atmosphere, and I also hope the photos can convey this relaxed tone. Finally, when sorting out this set of photos, although it looks like just a simple set of student uniforms, every tightness of the necktie, the length of the socks, and even the folds of the shoes were things considered even before making the appearance.

Actually, the feeling of every outdoor location shoot is about the same; it's full of high expectations before leaving the door, and although the body feels a bit fatigued upon returning after shooting, seeing these frozen moments makes me feel it's well worth it. It's just about continuously walking through the scenery dressed as a favorite character, casually recording the light and shadow variations of different seasons for this Cosplay sharing post.
