[Shimoe Koharu cosplay] Summer Poolside Shoot: Blue Archive

It was slightly sunny today, just right for this Blue Archive Shimoe Koharu cosplay Swimsuit cosplay shoot. Choosing a pool with blue-and-white mosaic tiles was intended to create a crisp, refreshing color contrast with my pink hair. The red-and-white "No Entry" sign and the pink-and-white swim ring served as essential props. To recreate the character accurately, I prepared her signature pink halo, black head feather, and small wings on the back; because the wings deform when soaked, adjusting angles during the water shots took considerable time.

This black floral bikini demands crisp body lines, especially along the legs, waist, and abdomen. Therefore, keeping the core engaged and controlling leg extension angles during the shoot was crucial. For instance, in the shot sitting poolside, I tested multiple leg placements; in the swim ring shot, arm positioning had to be managed carefully to avoid obstructing body contours. The sheer ankle socks and frilly lace trim also added intricate detail, drifting faintly beneath the water.

The entire set encompasses standing, sitting, kneeling, and glancing back over the shoulder in the water. Moving in the pool was far from easy—the underwater tiles were hard, making knees ache easily, and water buoyancy caused slipping. The photographer also directed me to hold a transparent book to partially shield my face, enhancing that playful, 2D charm. The lighting was ample, and water surface reflections provided a natural filter effect; post-processing focused primarily on refining skin texture while preserving water droplets to keep the images authentic.

When selecting accessories, I carefully compared details from the original artwork, such as choker length and floral patterns. During this Outdoor photography session, maintaining wig volume—especially the twintails—was essential to avoid flattening facial profile contours. My mindset was kept very relaxed to best express the character's breezy summer energy. With water all around, preventing splashes onto the makeup was another priority; the eye makeup specifically featured reddish tones to harmonize with the overall palette.

Throughout the shoot, I discussed composition extensively with the photographer—such as framing with foreground green foliage and road signs to add depth, or using a wide aperture to blur water highlights and emphasize the subject. Underwater reflections also yielded fantastic angles. While posing, showcasing both the wings and head accessories required keeping my back straight, preventing slouching from breaking the character's charm.

From prepping props to wrapping up, this Blue Archive Shimoe Koharu cosplay project was a genuinely delightful Outdoor photography experience. Both composition and color achieved that envisioned refreshing summer feel, staying dedicated to recreating the character's poolside atmosphere.
