[Ayumu Uehara Cosplay] Nijigasaki High School Idol Club • Devil's Invitation - Image 1

This official photoshoot chose a dark Gothic style cosplay presentation. Cooperating with the theme "Devil's Invitation", we made a lot of detailed considerations from hair/makeup styling to scene layout.

First, regarding the hairstyle, I chose a short pink hair look. To fit the overall dark yet gorgeous setting, a braid was woven on the left side to add a textured feel, adorned with black hairpins.

The main dress is a gorgeous black-and-red color-coded gown. As you can see, the red bows on the chest and waist are highly prominent, where the red velvet material and black satin form a powerful visual contrast. A choker was specially paired around the neck, featuring tiny metal and pearl decorative details. The detached sleeves are made of black semi-translucent sheer tulle with pearl trim, preserving the idol style's elegance while integrating a dark vibe of a villain or a Devil cosplay. The armbands on the hands also echo the overall asymmetrical design.

The props selected during the shoot carry a great sense of weight. First is the black high-back throne behind, carved with complex patterns; sitting on it truly felt like commanding the entire room. The white withered branches alongside the red crucifix backdrop keep the visual focus of the entire frame tightly locked, overflowing with dramatic tension and mystery. This kind of set layout heavily tests the fusion between the costume and the background. You can see how the patterns of the black skirt hem when spread out echo the black framework of the background perfectly.

During the actual shoot, to restore the character's temperament, controlling the gaze and movements is crucial. For example, the action of reaching out my hand in the frame is actually simulating an inviting gesture. Cooperating with the slightly winged eyeliner in the makeup, I hope to convey that feeling of being confident, proud, yet carrying a bit of mystery and playfulness. Because every single detail had to be managed—from wig styling and garment wearing to makeup touch-ups—the whole process was actually quite exhausting. However, seeing the resulting photo texture fit the theme so perfectly makes all the physical labor entirely worth it. In the process of cosplay, trying various styles that differ from the character's daily impression is highly interesting, and this dark-leaning Devil cosplay theme counts as a breakthrough attempt breaking routine.

Some pearl strands and belt details on the costume reflect a texture under the lights that makes the skirt hem look very layered. The black reflective fabric and the contrasting red color are perfect for this gorgeous, slightly religious-vibe convention look. The strength of the movements during shooting must also be well-controlled, ensuring both the neatness of the attire and allowing the skirt hem to exhibit a natural silhouette during actions.

If everyone encounters me in this outfit at a comic con or a shooting location, you are more than welcome to come find me to hang out and chat! This is some of the behind-the-scenes sharing for this official photoshoot, hoping to bring a different visual experience to everyone through this Love Live! cosplay project.
