The convention hall shots for Entelechia are finally out! The design of this outfit truly speaks to my heart. The black, white, and red tricolor palette—featuring a black top accented by tiered white ruffled collar details—radiates an intensely classical gothic charm. What thrilled me most was the glossy patent leather fabric used for the waist and skirt sections; under the convention hall lights, the texture looked phenomenal, delivering reflective sheens that ordinary matte fabrics simply cannot replicate. To complement the overarching look, I specifically chose red contact lenses, which, paired with custom pointed ear props, pushed accuracy to the max. The glossy red gloves on my hands served as another crowning touch, forging a bold visual contrast against the black garments.
For the wig, I intentionally trimmed it with textured, piecey ends and shaped three-dimensional volume at the crown to introduce dynamic depth. Makeup-wise, the focus was accentuating the reddish eye shadow to echo the pupil color, with slightly elongated winged eyeliner to inject a subtle, aggressive edge. The base makeup remained clean and matte to ensure it stayed free from oily glare under camera flashes.
The lower body styling is equally meticulous: black leather shorts paired with metallic sheen leg rings, along with lace bow ties and strapping, keeping the overall silhouette from looking monotonous. The back skirt hem features a black-and-red gradient design crafted from lightweight fabric that creates breathtaking layers whenever I walk. For the first shot, I deliberately chose a half-body composition to emphasize the intricate upper bodice details and facial makeup, allowing just a hint of the thigh garter to peek through for a tastefully alluring touch.
We brought along that iconic, colossal scythe prop for these hall shots as well. While it might look effortless in the photos, the prop carries substantial weight, requiring constant arm and core strength to stabilize. To evoke that cold, subtly sinister aura, controlling my gaze and posture while keeping my footing rock-solid was paramount. For the scythe pose in the second full-body shot, I tested several angles before finding this perfectly balanced silhouette.
The location turned out to be quite ideal: the convention center provided a relatively clean background, and the cool-toned lighting brought out the lustrous highlights on the outfit beautifully. The magic of convention photography lies in expressing a character's distinctive traits through light, shadow, and framing within limited space. The photographer's lighting setup was exceptionally professional, rendering both the flowing skirt texture and glossy patent leather highlights to perfection. Every cosplay demands tremendous effort in preparing garments and props—especially characters with numerous small accessories that take time to suit up, not to mention extensive pre-styling for wigs. Yet seeing the final results makes every bit of the hard work completely worthwhile.
