[Sangonomiya Kokomi Cosplay] Genshin Impact: Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island Photoshoot Log

This studio shoot's theme was set as Sangonomiya Kokomi from Genshin Impact. From the preparation of costumes and props to the construction of the set, a lot of effort was poured into every detail, and the final effect perfectly fits the Hydro element atmosphere of Watatsumi Island.

First, let's talk about the design of this costume. The top features elaborate white-and-blue spliced tailoring, especially the highly recognizable sea-blue gem bow on the chest, paired with a black choker with a blue pendant on the neck, which brightens the complexion beautifully and becomes the visual focus of the upper body. To restore the texture from the game, the fabric selected had subtle textures rather than smooth, reflective cloth, allowing for softer, more delicate layering under studio lights.

The gradient wig on my head was a part I was very satisfied with. Naturally transitioning from pale pink to ice blue with soft micro-curls, this wig reveals a very natural luster under cool-toned lights. The top was paired with a finely crafted animal-ear-shaped hair accessory, perfectly matching the overall anime attributes and appearing nimble without feeling out of place.

The sleeve portion utilized a wide, semi-transparent mesh design, printed with flowing wave and vine patterns, with wavy frilled edging. These voluminous wide sleeves wrap around the arms nicely in a seated pose, adding a soft sense of volume to the cool-toned image. During the shoot, I intentionally adjusted my arm position so the sleeve gauze could drape naturally with the wind, adding a touch of flowing grace.

The lower half is paired with white over-the-knee stockings—not pure white, but featuring a light blue water-ripple pattern print as part of a White thigh-highs outfit that echoes the reflective floor material, extending leg lines effectively. On my feet were dark blue and white platform lace-up shoes, adorned with blue bows on the toes; this platform design visually elongates the silhouette, matching the "Hydro element" style of the entire outfit just right.

The scene props at the shooting site were also meticulously arranged. The main element was a huge inflatable white shell chair, with a realistic-feeling large white shell on the left, and white daisies and coral-like props dotting the right and surroundings. Most special was the floor covering, which used a highly reflective mirror material; this floor clearly reflected the person and surrounding floral props during the shoot, creating a psychedelic feel and spatial extension as if floating on the water's surface, in the abyss, or in an underwater world.

In terms of lighting, we used soft diffuse reflections throughout, combined with cool white and pale blue lighting setups. With no harsh shadows at all, this lighting method is very friendly to restoring white clothing. During shooting, to bring out the ocean feel to the fullest, we specifically fine-tuned the color temperature of the lights to make the cool atmosphere even purer.

Because composition required sitting on the shell chair, I tried various poses including lying back, side-lying, and half-sitting. In the end, we selected this half-leaning posture with one leg naturally bent and the other extending forward. This seated pose not only elongates leg lines and uses the mirror floor to capture beautiful reflections, but also lets the wide sleeves blend more naturally with the shell background behind me. While finding angles, constant attention was needed to keep my waist straight and expression relaxed to avoid showing exhaustion.

This shooting process actually tested my patience greatly, as white stockings and white clothes could easily get dirty on the reflective floor if not careful, and the soft shell chair required constant posture adjustments to find a support point that wouldn't sink. But seeing the sea-blue light and shadow create a harmonious resonance with the character's demeanor in the finished photos made it feel truly worthwhile. As a Genshin Impact character cosplay experience and an Anime-style photoshoot, it served as a concrete expression of the emotional character design from the game, and I hope this sharing allows everyone to feel the dedication behind this set design and the character's unique beauty.
