Today's shoot was an absolute blast, running smoothly from the initial planning to the final output. The red wig was re-trimmed specifically to capture Miss Yamada's casual and slightly rebellious texture, and the curve of the bangs was adjusted several times to find the fit that stays truest to the original design. The black patent leather jacket is actually a tough material to work with due to its extreme reflectivity; if the lighting is even slightly off, it will blast harsh hot spots onto the shoulders. Fortunately, the photographer, Chao Fangbianmian, knew exactly how to suppress the harsh highlights this time, preserving the glossy oil-slick texture of the leather while ensuring the face wasn't overexposed. For the inner layers, I chose the simplest white top and a black choker, ensuring the black, white, and red color-blocking wouldn't look cluttered in the frame.

Squatting at the back door of the convenience store is actually quite a test of balance; your center of gravity must rest on your heels, otherwise it's hard to keep it natural. Holding a white straw in my hand to substitute for a cigarette—though it's just a prop—instantly brought out that relaxed vibe of 'waiting for someone.' While shooting, we also paid special attention to the color scheme of the stacked plastic crates in the background, which precisely echoed the red, white, and green striped storefront, giving the overall tone a real 'street movie' aesthetic.

This set utilized natural light with a bit of front-side fill light, making the skin tone look very translucent and keeping the eye makeup from being overly heavy. Personally, my favorites are the first and fourth photos, but when choosing the cover, I still felt the gaze in the first one was the most captivating. That casual look sweeping past the camera actually holds more of a narrative than staring straight into the lens. The combination of black stockings and white platform shoes was also repeatedly considered; it needed to look sharp without being over the top. In the end, I chose these ankle boots, as the heel height perfectly propped up the silhouette when squatting down.

Lastly, I must say that the glass reflections at the convenience store really tested our camera positioning. A slight tilt could easily catch the photographer's shadow, so being able to dodge all the messy reflections this time was a mix of luck and technique. After doing cosplay for so many years, everyday characters like this are actually the ones that require the most effort to capture a 'slice-of-life' vibe. Not acting stiff, not forced posing, but blending the character's state into the environment is truly the most fun part.
