This shoot took place on the streets late at night and outside the back entrance of a convenience store. We chose this location because the cool white lighting from the convenience store, combined with the warm yellow streetlights, sculpted a high-contrast, coolly glamorous urban atmosphere at night, which suited the character concept perfectly.

I deliberated over this outfit for quite a while. The base consists of a form-fitting, cropped white U-neck T-shirt paired with light blue distressed denim shorts, cinched with a black belt featuring a metallic buckle. The centerpiece of the visual aesthetic is pairing sheer Black stockings with white high-heeled ankle boots; this sharp black-and-white contrast delivers an intense visual impact against the nightscape. Throwing a black leather jacket over my shoulders and wearing a black leather choker around my neck instantly brought out a rebellious street edge. This outfit doesn't need overly complicated accessories—letting basic wardrobe staples clash is eye-catching enough while beautifully flattering body proportions.

During the shoot, the photographer and I explored various poses at the convenience store entrance and along the street railings. To accentuate leg lines, we used the steps and railings to lift one leg, lean back, or simply crouch by the roadside pretending to smoke. The reflective sheen of Black stockings in night scenes can actually be quite tricky to capture, but with an A7R6 paired with a 28-70 GM lens, the details were rendered impeccably—both the gloss of the hair strands and the highlights across the stockings under the streetlights remained razor-sharp. In particular, for the shots crouching on the convenience store steps with a cigarette between my fingers or with the leather jacket half-slung across my arm against the store's green-striped sign, the frame carried a profound sense of storytelling. Crouching requires careful balance, especially in high-heeled boots; to showcase leg curves without looking cramped or awkward, we tested multiple angles before finding the perfect shot.

Actually, regarding the name joke about Yamada and Ms. Tayama, we laughed about it on set for quite a while. People joke that Yamada is just Ms. Tayama—that kind of tongue-twister identity twist is so hard to say out loud! To complement the casual, dual-identity contrast of this concept, I also took a set of convenience store clerk photos inside, donning the red apron and bandana—a starkly different persona compared to the rebellious girl in black smoking outside.

Posing while exhaling smoke on the street was a real test of expression control; you can't push too hard, you must maintain a languid, nonchalant attitude. Hooding the eyes slightly or casting a cold glance toward the lens while keeping the body completely relaxed makes it effortless to slip into that detached, careless mood. The black leather jacket has a substantial, weighty texture; slinging it loosely over one shoulder creates the worn-out exhaustion of someone who just clocked out of work or survived a chaotic day, perfectly resonating with this character's essence. The street breeze was quite chilly, but it kept me sharp and alert, allowing that cool, distant detachment in my gaze to surface naturally.

Every frame frozen by the camera is a rebellious statement against the mundane everyday routine. Free from exaggerated poses or over-the-top expressions, relying solely on simple props and raw settings pushed the late-night urban atmosphere to its absolute peak. Although shooting into the dead of night was exhausting, seeing that effortless street tension emerge on the screen made staying up late completely worthwhile.
