[Kafka cosplay] Weekend Hunter Convention Photos at the Circular Venue

I successfully received the photographer's convention photos of my Kafka cosplay from the August 6th circular convention. The venue was quite spacious, and the natural lighting on the second-floor outdoor area was fantastic. This set of photos didn't rely on overly complex post-processing filters; instead, it leaned into the convention's outdoor environment to complement the character's effortless, do-as-she-pleases aura. For preparation, Kafka's purplish-red long wig is indeed prone to tangling amidst the crowded convention traffic, so I gave it extra styling beforehand. The goggles as a highlight accessory, perched directly atop my head, added a touch of casual languidness. The black grid print on the white shirt and the red cord knot hanging from the collar are my favorite details of this costume, especially when outdoor light hit the white fabric, producing a clean, photogenic line definition. The black-and-blue short outer jacket actually features a magenta contrast lining, which, combined with the leather black pants, strikes a great balance between dark and bright tones. Regarding props, the standard pair of black and silver prop guns unexpectedly had a good heft to them, adding a lot of realism during the shoot. Walking back and forth near the stairs and corridors of the circular venue, the photographer suggested capturing dynamic moments from a low angle, such as aiming the guns or walking forward, which highlighted upper-body posture while maintaining full-body composition tension. The shoulder design of this Kafka costume was also a plus; the slightly elevated shoulder line framed my posture without needing deliberate posing, achieving that cool, detached vibe naturally. While shooting outdoors offered pleasant lighting, the crowded convention visitors meant finding a clean background required patience and mutual understanding with the team. The contours of the prop guns refracted in the sunlight and the wide-lens perspective distortion actually cultivated an alternative everyday cyberpunk atmosphere. Finding suitable blind spots is crucial in daily convention shoots. This venue's outdoor area was on the second floor of a circular building flanked by high-rises and glass curtain walls, a backdrop prone to evoking an urban, modern feel. Since the character inherently carries an elegant and composed trait, we tried to avoid overly cute expressions during the shoot, maintaining a confident and slightly aloof demeanor. For eye makeup, I deliberately chose light purple contact lenses paired with red lip makeup to fit the character's color scheme. The two prop guns, after wrapping up the indoor laser-grid scenes, took on a completely different texture under the outdoor natural light. The indoor shots had wonderful atmosphere, but personally, I prefer the outdoor natural light photos because the illumination reflecting off the white shirt made the outfit look more three-dimensional and exquisite. I must mention the hustle and bustle of convention shoots: being fully armed with a wig, styling, and props while navigating a sea of people takes up a massive chunk of the day from prep to finish. The final low-angle wide shot with chromatic dispersion twist was a clever touch by the photographer, adding some motion to the static set. Everyone cooperated wonderfully on the day of the shoot; though exhausting, seeing the final photos made it completely worth it.
