This time, I'm bringing you a Christmas-themed photoshoot of Klee from Genshin Impact. To match the rich holiday atmosphere, we built a magical, whimsical forest set inside the studio. The overall outfit features a classic red, white, and black color scheme. The wide-brimmed red pointed witch hat takes center stage, enriched with white ruffles along the brim, bows, and metallic crests for textured nuance. To faithfully embody the character, I styled a fluffy light-blonde wig paired with red contact lenses and her iconic pointed elf ears.
For the makeup, the eye styling embraced reddish hues to echo the crimson irises, accented with soft pink blush swept under the eyes and dewy shimmer highlights to keep the face plump and utterly adorable. To channel that wandering woodland sprite vibe, the foundation leaned matte with rock-solid oil control for long shooting hours. The tailored corset and harness details on the dress flatter the silhouette, while the white base of the flared skirt and black straps provide crisp layering. Naturally, the key elements were essential: White stockings accented with tiny red bows and lace trims instantly sent the cuteness through the roof upon slipping them on.
The shooting session was pure fun. The backdrop was heavily dressed with evergreen Christmas trees, warm yellow fairy star-string lights, faux mossy tree trunks, and cotton tufts evoking gentle snowfall. Wearing her satchel with the plush white pendant and clutching an orange gift box, I explored a wide variety of poses. Perching on tree branches required keeping my balance while sustaining an effortless, relaxed posture; lying on the woodland floor, the photographer shot from a top-down perspective as I stretched out naturally, letting the White stockings pop radiantly to accentuate the lines of the legs and skirt. Tossing the gift box took several takes—to catch candid, playful expressions on the fly, I kept channeling Klee's joyous, innocent playtime energy.
Warm amber illumination washing over the crimson dress, combined with a wide aperture, created a dreamy, circular bokeh haze. This shoot was not just about faithfully recreating a character, but about bringing 2D warmth into reality. Immense gratitude to Xiao Luo, our all-in-one genius handling hair, makeup, lighting, camera, and retouching, who captured this fantastical holiday mood flawlessly. A great deal of heart went into every stage of this project, and I hope everyone feels this Christmas blessing from the enchanted forest.
