[La Pluma cosplay] The Arknights Guardian in the Industrial Ruins

This time, I'm sharing an Arknights La Pluma cosplay set. The costume's construction is very intricate, especially the silver armor piece on the chest and the holographic laser fabric jacket on the back. The holographic material refracts various colors under sunlight, but it's also very delicate and required extra care during shooting to prevent scratches.

In terms of hair and makeup, the straight black long hair was paired with a white headband and a slender black hairpin. To capture the character's aloof coolness, the eye makeup used reddish smudging paired with red colored contacts, making the gaze look very striking on camera. The black-and-gray main tone of the outfit formed a great contrast with the silver-white metallic textures.

The most demanding part was actually the massive mechanical scythe prop. To make it as lightweight as possible while retaining a heavy visual aesthetic, reinforced hollow material was used inside. Even so, striking poses while holding such a massive weapon was a real test of arm strength—especially during full-body shots, where carrying it single-handedly while maintaining natural movement was truly not easy.

The shooting location was chosen at a heavy industry heritage site, where rust-covered blast furnaces, pipelines, and yellow iron railings perfectly complemented the sci-fi wasteland setting of the character lore. In particular, for the full-body composition in photo 5, the photographer used a low-angle wide shot, which not only made the steel structures in the background appear towering, but also elongated the leg proportions nicely, enhancing the overall presence when combined with the leg garter details.

At Arknights Only conventions and Ambience Synesthesia event venues, walking around in this outfit turned many heads and led to great interactions with fellow fans. Although wearing it took a long time and was somewhat tiring, the character design is inherently dynamic, and the overall texture completely met expectations. The sunlight was strong that day, so while it was hot, the light reflections along the edges of the weapon looked fantastic.

Regarding the maintenance of this costume, the transparent holographic layer of the jacket cannot be folded and must be hung up to prevent creases. When wearing it, care must be taken to keep the fur collar dry, and when shooting outdoors, it's best to steer clear of thick bushes to avoid branches snagging the fabric. The composition for this shoot also utilized the symmetry of the background, contrasting the cold, hard industrial aesthetic against the delicate grace of the subject—a contrast I personally love.

Overall, cosplaying a character I deeply love—from preparing props to seeing the finished photos—is a truly enjoyable journey. Every outdoor shoot is a physical challenge, especially for characters with large weapons, inevitably leading to sore muscles upon returning home. But seeing the visual impact of the final photos makes all the effort well worth it.
