[Haruka cosplay] Arknights Creator Support Program: Until the earth turns into a lime

Participating in the Arknights Creator Support Program with a cosplay of Haruka required a great deal of thoughtful preparation. Since the theme is 'Until the earth turns into a lime', I wanted the overall visual atmosphere to radiate a bright, refreshingly sweet, and whimsical energy. To faithfully capture Haruka's design, every detail of the costume and styling was repeatedly coordinated and verified with the prop master.

First, regarding the outfit: the base relies on a sharp black-and-white color contrast, layered under a semi-sheer white ruffled overblouse. Selecting the right textile for this sheer layer was crucial—too sheer would look cheap, while too opaque would destroy that airy, breezy idol presence. Ultimately, we settled on a delicately sheer chiffon fabric and calibrated the drape of the puff sleeves multiple times to ensure fluid lines whenever my arms were raised. The oversized mint green satin bows at the collar and atop the head serve as primary visual anchors; their satin sheen catches studio lights gorgeously, though they wrinkle easily and required meticulous steaming right before the shoot. The oversized mint green bow tie paired with a black choker immediately added dimensional depth to the neckline. The red quilted heart-shaped bag in my hand serves as the standout focal point; pairing red and green color-blocking over a black-and-white base delivers high visual punch, which is the defining charm of this coordinate. A petite petticoat supported the skirt's round bell flare—though maneuvering in it took extra effort, the photographic payoff made it worthwhile.

For the wig and makeup, to recreate Haruka's long pink locks as a pink-haired girl cosplay, I chose a softly waved wig in a delicate pink hue. Pink can be tricky to pull off without looking washed out or gaudy, so I dusted fine glitter throughout the strands, creating a starry shimmer under the studio lights. The makeup centered heavily around the eyes and lips. Wearing pink contact lenses, I blended tone-on-tone eyeshadow and applied tear-shaped sequins near the inner eye corners and cheekbones. For the lips, I selected a glossy, water-tinted red lip jelly. I personally love this crisp, minimalist shooting style because it draws viewer focus straight to the costume tailoring and makeup details. Throughout the shoot, the photographer helped me stay relaxed, capturing spontaneous, playful poses. Cosplay is never just about wearing an outfit for photos; from pattern drafting and wig styling to the final makeup harmonization, every step reflects a deeper understanding of the character. Even without complex weaponry or heavy armor, subtle textures and fine details test one's craftsmanship the most. The Arknights Creator Support Program gave me immense drive to bring these concepts to life, and the theme 'Until the earth turns into a lime' filled the creative process with a lighthearted, buoyant joy that I hope shines through every shot. Under the lights, as the satin ribbons gleamed and the wig shimmered, adjusting exposure angles allowed us to capture every crystalline highlight. Posing with the heart-shaped bag also meant keeping an eye on wrist angles so as not to obscure the quilted pattern. Each satisfying click of the shutter reaffirmed that all the meticulous preparation was worth it.
