[Misono Mika Cosplay] A Casual Daily Moment from Blue Archive's Angel Academy

For Misono Mika from Blue Archive, this time I tried putting together a look featuring sporty wings and conducted a photoshoot set against a pure white studio backdrop.

The pink wig for this look has great fiber texture, with the highlights being the two rounded Pink space buns on top, as well as the fringe curve and sideburn distribution, which harmonizes wonderfully with the reddish-pink eye makeup to match the character's overall color palette. For the outfit, I selected a white short-sleeved athletic T-shirt with dark blue trim along the collar and cuffs, along with subtle print accents on the left chest. The bottom consists of dark blue athletic shorts featuring yellow side stripes, presenting a vibrant and crisp sporty academy style.

The huge white feathery Angel wings on my back were definitely the centerpiece of the shoot. I opted for a fluffy, soft-textured pair of wings; beyond the expansive white feathers, they were specially detailed with crescent moon, star, and magic wand patch decorations to match her angel setting. Shooting with such large wings required adjusting to the body's center of gravity due to their width and weight, but whether leaning back or sitting upright on a chair, adjusting the support points instantly brought out striking visual tension.

Studio lighting utilized a soft diffusion setup paired with a solid seamless white backdrop, filtering out cluttered colors. This kind of lighting setup heavily tests the coser's expressiveness: without set props to rely on, the character itself—especially hair color, costume accessories, and wing textures—must serve as the absolute visual focal point of the image. By adjusting facial angles, eye contact, and subtle limb positioning, the shots stay rich rather than empty.

Across the three pose sets shot, I explored different sides of her personality. The first folded-arm seated pose appeared playful and confident, while the second cross-legged sitting pose on the desktop resting a chin on one hand felt more relaxed and lazy. For the third, I chose to sit on the edge of the school desk with legs naturally dangling, leaning my center of gravity back with hands supporting my sides; combined with the extending lines of the white knee socks, it created a slender and light visual effect. This posture required precise lower-body limb control during shooting, needing repeated angle adjustments to maintain smooth thigh-high socks and leg lines. For makeup, I intentionally defined the outer eye corners and aegyo sal shadows, blended with light pink eyeshadow to create that translucent anime aesthetic, while keeping lip color natural with a hint of warmth to prevent it from looking overly heavy.

I am extremely satisfied with the overall mood of this studio shoot; clean and refreshing visuals combined with a white dominant palette allowed the character's sporty feel and Angel wings elements to coexist harmoniously. Incorporating school desks and chairs added an authentic touch of daily campus life, giving the fantasy-leaning wings a grounded placement within the academy setting. Makeup and wearing preparations before shooting took time, particularly grooming feathers and securing wig bun placements, but the resulting quality made it entirely worthwhile. Because image compositions remained relatively structured without redundant collages, letting costume design and subtle expressions convey the narrative, this represents my core cosplay concept: choosing precise positioning and using costuming, makeup, and props to recreate a character's spirit without letting flashy post-processing overshadow the subject.
