I chose to challenge the 'Lost Abyss' version of Kamisato Ayaka from Genshin Impact this time. Unlike the cool and elegant version everyone is familiar with, the Abyss version carries a sense of repressed and fragile beauty, representing another state of the character in an extreme environment. To restore this character, I put a lot of effort into the dark tones and detailed decorations of the costume. In particular, the elusive sense of depth amidst the interweaving light and shadow is the core visual point of this Kamisato Ayaka cosplay. In terms of makeup and styling, I tried to incorporate more abyss-like elements while retaining Ayaka's original temperament, allowing the eyes to reveal a sense of struggling fragility, ensuring high Character accuracy.
Choosing to shoot in this Japanese garden in Kunming was perfect. The surrounding vegetation and rockeries matched well, especially in the moments when light and shadow changed, making it easy to create that aloof and mysterious atmosphere. As a cosplayer, the happiest thing is to be able to delicately present the character's inner world through the lens and resonate with the audience visually.
Special thanks to the photographer 'Doudoujia's Lan Lin' for precisely capturing every detail of the gaze I wanted to express. Every costume change and makeup session is an exploration of the character's depth. I hope this visual presentation allows friends who like Ayaka to see a completely different, even slightly dangerous side of her, achieving a perfect Photoshoot in Kunming.
