[Skirk cosplay] Waiting for the Day Ajax Learns Dual-Wielding

Standing at the exhibition booth, I arrange the two cosplay props weapons in front of me, feeling the ambient temperature of today's Bilibili World 2025 anime convention venue. This time I brought Skirk's look, standing in the center of the venue, perfect for showcasing the front silhouette and asymmetric design of this costume.

Speaking of the weapons, the black crescent-like blade on the left and the silver-blue-white long sword on the right actually feel noticeably different in hand. Because the dual-wielding pose requires both arms to be fully extended, it poses a challenge to arm strength and balance. Fortunately, the overhead truss lighting at the anime convention venue illuminated the golden radial components on the weapon surfaces quite brilliantly. Visually, it looks very solid, and the weight from the long dimensions did not affect my overall performance.

The key highlight of the costume's upper body lies in the white cut-out tailoring, which, combined with the dark blue stand-up collar and the chest ornament, makes the line from the neck to the shoulders look very sharp. The cutout design of that decoration happens to expose the collarbone and shoulder areas, paired with a star brooch, showing a deliberate effort to fit this character's original powerful aura.

Publicly, the visual focus of the lower body falls entirely on the asymmetric design. Especially the purple high-top boot and leg sleeve on the left leg, its surface utilizes a geometric pattern with prism refraction. When the high-brightness spotlights at the anime convention venue hit the fabric, it reflects a very subtle light and shadow texture, creating an illusion of flashing cool light to the naked eye. The three-dimensional structure of the purple platform boots firmly grips the ground to maintain a stable standing pose, elongating the overall stature and making the full-body proportions look more slender.

At the anime convention venue, the floor is typical gray rubber flooring with scratches, the background is filled with passing pedestrians and clutter from other booths, and the lighting is a very strong artificial top light. In this environment, capturing the light and dark layers of the costume is indeed harder than a studio shoot. Therefore, I specially adjusted the angle of my upper body shoulders, tilting slightly toward the main lens, so that the light source could fall on my cheeks and handguards in the intended direction, displaying the facial contours and costume texture details as much as possible.

However, the authentic anime convention cosplay experience is never just about making the photos look pretty. Wearing this gear, weaving through the crowded exhibition halls, and carrying two cosplay props weapons that are dozens of centimeters long all day, the soreness in my arms is hard to avoid. Yet, every time I stop when someone calls out to me, or the moment the camera shutter clicks, that unique sense of focus belonging to this character is reawakened inside me. The noise and lighting of the venue instead make one concentrate more on the moment of standing in front of the lens.

For this Bilibili World 2025, I chose the convention—a place with a real sense of scene—to present this look. Compared to the perfect lighting in a cyclorama studio, I prefer to leave the character's original expression in this kind of environment at the anime convention venue. After all, the character herself was born alongside scenes of adventure and battle. Standing on this ground filled with a sense of connection among fellow fans, I feel my entire state becomes more relaxed and natural.

Finally, I hope the look I presented allows people to see the effort I put into restoring the appearance and texture of the costume and props.
