[Theresa Cosplay] Arknights Fitting Diary

This is the fitting outfit for Theresa from Arknights, sharing my genuine thoughts during the mirror selfie process. The costume is a black-and-white long gown. The voluminous white skirt has a wonderful drape with multiple layers of tulle underneath, making it look very fluffy visually, but it is also quite heavy and rather inconvenient for walking around. The silhouette of the large black sleeves is great for flattering the arms, though they easily get messy and require constant adjusting. The horns on the head were the trickiest part to secure. Due to balance and center-of-gravity issues, I had to adjust their angle multiple times to get them standing upright, and during the shoot, I had to keep my neck stiff just to maintain that posture.

The wig features long silver-to-pink gradient hair ending in a soft light pink at the tips. The bangs are on the longer side, easily covering my eyes completely whenever I tilt my head slightly, so I had to hold them aside with my hand while taking mirror selfies. For makeup, the pink contact lenses brightened my complexion nicely, and paired with the dark eyeliner, they brought out an authentic Demon Lord aura. In the close-up shot, all the details are clearly visible; the combination of different textured pieces works exceptionally well, and the styling of the nails and knuckle rings greatly contributed to the overall atmosphere.

The shooting environment was an unfinished indoor set with a stepladder, tables, clutter, and water bottles scattered on the floor in the background. Because of the clutter, finding good composition angles for mirror shots was quite challenging. I had to continually reposition the mirror and use the wide white expanse of the skirt to conceal the messy backdrop behind me. In comparison, the close-up shot taken right in front of the lens was actually the easiest to pull off because the background was blurred out, eliminating any need to worry about extra furniture as long as the eye contact and facial lighting were handled properly. The mirror frame itself was rather narrow, so I had to step back a little to stay clear of the edges. The lace trim on the large skirt caught easily on surrounding objects, so to avoid mishaps, my movements were kept small, posing only with slight body turns, which made maintaining balance no easy task.

The outfit is rich in details—the neckline, hem, and sleeves all boast unique tailoring—but the fabric is somewhat stiff and cannot be crumpled, requiring extra care when smoothing it out. Overall, this fitting was not only to test the outfit's visual presentation but also to check its mobility in practical settings. For an outdoor shoot in this attire, one would definitely need to watch their step to avoid stepping on the long skirt hem. Although the shoot required quite a bit of effort, paired with the cool-toned lighting and pink hair, the resulting imagery carries a distinct sense of mystery.
