This Cosplay makeup test features Viper from Goddess of Victory: Nikke. From overall styling to makeup details, I spent quite a while fussing over it, but finally snapped a set of photos I'm fairly satisfied with. Talking about the wig first, as mentioned in the post description, I haven't meticulously styled the wig yet and admittedly got a bit lazy; the volume at the sideburns and back of the head still needs further combing and layering. I set it aside for now, otherwise getting fully geared up would have kept me shooting until midnight.
The biggest outfit highlight is this white high-collar off-the-shoulder top paired with a pink jacket. The front of the top features a zipper and a gray diamond emblem with blackish-gray letter prints, forming a nice contrast against the main pink and white tones. The outer loose pink jacket is especially eye-catching with a very accurate hue. The most practical feature is the paneled strap design—pink nylon webbing paired with metal side-release buckles wraps around the neck and drapes down toward the midriff, visually highlighting the bust contour. As noted in the post, "padding up makes the waist look slimmer," and indeed, this combination works wonders for reshaping body proportions. The silver metallic skirt on the lower half produces lovely reflections under light, and though only partially captured, its material contrast with the top creates a very modern, sci-fi feel in this Anime-style fashion look.
This Makeup record focuses primarily on eye makeup and lip work. The character design features iconic reddish-pink pupils, so I chose matching red contact lenses to enhance the piercing gaze. Pink and purple eyeshadow was blended over a large area to deepen the outer eye contours, making the eyes look richer and deeper. For the lips, I applied a moisturizing glossy red lipstick that stays in high harmony with the overall pinkish-red palette without clashing. The general direction of the makeup was clear yet tension-filled, recreating as much as possible the character's languid yet subtly dangerous vibe.
Regarding accessories, the pink cat-ear headpiece and wavy side hair clips were the finishing touches, infusing a hint of playfulness into an otherwise cool, sci-fi outfit. Filming took place in a temporary home set, where curtains behind featured subtle floral patterns and gold borders. Combined with soft light filtering through sheer drapes without harsh flashes, the makeup transitions and clothing folds were captured very naturally.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this makeup test. Aside from the wig needing further styling later, the coordination between costume, makeup, and hair achieved the desired effect. As a detail-oriented person, doing the makeup test myself was tedious, but seeing the character's traits brought to life in the final photos brought an immense sense of accomplishment. The color combinations and tailoring of the whole look showcase the character's personality traits while looking extremely photogenic for daily shots or location shoots. I look forward to perfecting the wig next time for a complete, official photoshoot.
