This doujin Cosplay photoshoot for Elysia's \"Song of Flowers\" look from Honkai Impact 3rd took quite a lot of thought during early prep and actual shooting. Because the costume design itself covers a wide scope, it needed to balance upper-body girlishness while supporting extreme lightweight fluidity in the lower skirt. Material selection for this outfit utilized generous pearl yarn, chiffon, and structural boning of varied stiffness; adjustments between inner lining and multi-layered skirt draping were made several times alone. For hair, a light pink long straight wig was selected; to capture the character's lively feel, natural layers and bang curves were trimmed, paired with a white floral wreath headpiece and airy veil that instantly elevated overall styling.
The set design for this shoot featured cool blue, white, and light purple tones. Low-saturation sheer drapes were spread across large floor areas, complemented by white Roman columns, floral decorations, and dimly flickering candleholders, attempting to construct a space blending mythical dignity with Dreamy girlish style photography. Lighting control in photography was exceptionally restrained: soft primary lights interwoven with cool fill tones, alongside reflective floor materials, extended spatial depth beautifully, allowing skirt pearlescence and drape transparency to present delicate textures under the camera.
When shooting outfits with expansive skirts, the main hurdle lies in balancing postures with composition. Though fluffy, sitting or lying poses easily create stiff folds in the skirt, requiring continuous adjustments to drape directions so layers spread naturally. During shooting, I experimented with lying down gently holding a bouquet, leaning sideways against a geometric pedestal box, and leaning slightly forward while seated on a column as seen in the photos. These movements demanded foresight regarding skirt layering and subtle balance between upper-body weight and skirt center of gravity when lifting legs or reaching out. Especially when wearing white stockings and high heels adorned with bows, leg line extensions required specific angles to highlight without appearing overly forced in Anime-style fashion.
Emotionally, I wanted to convey the character's lighthearted, free-spirited, and playfully charming nature. Whether turning back while holding the veil or subtly looking up toward the lens, I strove to approach that atmosphere through eyes and subtle fingertip gestures. Though this outfit is a fan-made creation, I hope everyone can feel the airy lightness carried by every layer of gauze and every bow through these visuals. Time spent refining styling and building sets ran longer than expected, but thankfully finished photos turned out natural, preserving light, shadow, and detail beautifully. Although wearing this outfit is quite elaborate, the state captured on camera feels immensely satisfying.
