The convention photos from Day 1 of Chongqing Mengxiang are finally sorted out and ready to post! This time I'm still cosplaying March 7th from Honkai: Star Rail. As everyone knows, this Pink-haired character's look is the type that appears full of energy and vitality at first glance, but in reality, faithfully recreating it takes a lot of effort due to the layered outfit and numerous detailed accessories.
The main outfit consists of a red, white, and purple color-blocked short skirt. The upper purple corset section features golden trim, accompanied by a striking red gem and a white cross knot ornament at the neckline, giving the overall design a blend of ancient aesthetic and fantasy charm. The double buns on top are quite complex in structure, requiring hairpiece padding to achieve a full shape, adorned with red ribbons, golden stars, and flower accessories. The bangs were trimmed multiple times to convey a natural, casual, and slightly goofy yet cute vibe. Without careful combing during shooting, it easily gets blown messy by the wind.
As for props, I brought two swords this time. The hilt and guard designs lean toward ornate, with a red, white, blue, and gold color scheme that pairs seamlessly with the costume. Holding and swinging them feels heavy in hand, adding a touch of battle-ready stance to what was originally a cute style. The photographer's candid captures were crucial; since March 7th's body movements are usually large and require rich facial expressions, finding a clean background in a crowded venue and relying on lighting to highlight prop and costume details really tested our synergy. Poses like holding swords in both hands or raising a sword single-handedly yielded great visual tension on camera, perfectly showcasing the character's lively nature.
The atmosphere at the convention venue was super lively. There were many photographers' lighting setups in the background; although there wasn't a lavish realistic studio set, the photos turned out very pure and close to the cosplayer's authentic state. This shoot was mainly to record the vivid real-life look of this outfit. The makeup maintained a combo of red-pink eyeshadow and purple contact lenses for stronger camera presence. Wearing a White thigh-highs outfit with the short skirt, along with the character's naturally tall leg proportions, gave the otherwise heavy red-purple costume a sense of lightness without looking draggy. The atmosphere at Chongqing Mengxiang events is always great—even though taking Convention photos requires queuing and drawing crowds of onlookers, interactions between cosplayers and photographer guidance bring so much fun. The selected shots are mostly candid captures without stiff forced poses, each showing the genuine on-site vibe. I hope to pass on this pink, energetic happiness through these photos, leaving a great record for my convention check-in!
