Putting on this techwear jacket primarily in black, white, and teal, wearing this horned mask, and standing by the platform of the green train, my state instantly switched into this character. This shoot took place by abandoned railways and old-style green train carriages, where the cool tones of the industrial style perfectly outlined the silhouette of the outfit. The hair was specially highlighted in peacock blue, with a bright strand left in front of the forehead, and the highly recognizable purple mark was kept between the brows to recreate the character's spirit.
Let's focus on this mask. It features a black base with gold outlines, sharp angles, and the cutouts at the eyes happen to reveal a bit of teal, echoing my hair color. It looks great whether held in hand or hung on the waist. The color-blocking design of the jacket has a lot of details, especially the teal-blue flame-like patterns on the cuffs and hem, which add a sense of motion to the originally tough black jacket. The inner layer retains the printed base, and paired with black half-finger tactical gloves and this silver pendant necklace, the overall look delivers a clean and cool sense of layering in both visual appeal and actual wear.
During the shoot, I tried various poses. Squatting on the rusty railway sleepers with my feet in the gravel piles while holding the mask maximized the garment's tailoring and casual vibe; leaning back onto the old wooden chair on the platform, or simply bracing against a black pillar, combined with natural light, captured the character's unique trait of carrying a boyish sharpness within a cool demeanor. The photographer, Qidao, is also great at capturing these relaxed moments, avoiding forced poses and focusing more on candid shots amidst the scattered rocks and tracks through outdoor photography.
The green of the train carriage and the black of my outfit formed a subtle clash between vintage and cyber styles. The withered trees, scattered gravel, and stark tracks in the background actually served as excellent natural scenery. In this entire outfit, the side-striped pants on the lower body and black thick-soled boots not only elongated my body proportions but also, when paired with the half-finger gloves, gave the character a stronger street vibe. Although outdoor photography involves large movements, techwear itself is highly convenient for activity. I hope to shape the character's cool, decisive, yet boyish side through these external clothing details and environmental atmosphere. The final selected photos successfully showcase the texture this styling aimed to express, and I'm very satisfied with the overall aesthetic.
