[The Shorekeeper Cosplay] Wuthering Waves' Blue and White Bridal Outfit, CP32 Convention Live Record

The convention photos from CP32 are fresh out of the oven, and I can finally share the shooting details of this set of The Shorekeeper photos with everyone.

This time, I chose a modified blue and white bridal-style look. The overall color scheme is very refreshing, which is also to fit the cool and slightly mysterious temperament of the character from Wuthering Waves itself. The light blue short hair with straight bangs frames the face beautifully, and the veil part uses a translucent tulle material that shows a natural sense of layers under the lights. The waist of the outfit is tightened relatively close, paired with the ruffles on the chest and cuffs, which not only highlights the lightness of the upper body but also forms a visual balance through the fluffy short skirt at the hem and the blue trailing ribbons.

The shooting location was inside the main pavilion of CP32. The space beneath the white steel frame structure overhead is very open. Using such a grand environmental background for cosplay photography, just a slight blur with a large aperture can create a sense of miniaturization for the subject. Wearing a dress with vintage bridal elements in such a modern venue creates a very interesting sense of contrast.

To match the ethereal feel of the entire look, I specially prepared a bouquet of light blue artificial flowers as a prop. The color echoes perfectly with the wig and the blue ribbons on the skirt hem. When holding the bouquet, whether holding it level like in the picture or resting it naturally on my knees, it adds a lot of soft ambiance to the frame. In addition, I didn't wear shoes at all this time, resting barefoot on a metal folding step ladder. Although the metal surface of the stool felt quite cold to sit on, this shoeless setting made the overall pose look more casual and truly liberated my feet, so I didn't have to bend over to tie shoelaces while navigating through the convention.

The venue at the convention was actually very compact, and there was a constant flow of people moving around during the shoot. To avoid random passersby in the background, the photographer and I had to seize the right moment and wrap things up quickly. The angle in Figure 1 was actually quite a test of core strength; although I look relaxed sitting there, to maintain the draped shape of the skirt's tulle while stabilizing my body's center of gravity, I had to find a good leverage point for my legs. The eyes-closed snapshot in Figure 2 happened to be during a gap when I was adjusting my breathing, but unexpectedly, the captured state looked very peaceful instead.

Although the entire outfit looks ethereal and fairy-like, the layers of stiff mesh tulle and the long trail actually have some weight to them. To avoid tripping over the skirt at the convention, I had to lift the front fabric slightly when walking. During the breaks in shooting, I would also slightly adjust the position of the veil or the orientation of the bouquet, just to leave the best state amidst the clicks of the camera shutter.

For the post-processing color grading, I didn't make the image too rich but maintained a low-saturation cool fair-skin tone. Combined with the blue and white dress and the gray-toned pavilion background, the overall look is cool and clean, which matches the character's own style. This look took a lot of effort at every step, from the trimming of the wig and the fixing of the veil to the adjustment of every single wrinkle on the skirt hem. However, seeing the final photos now, I feel all the previous hard work was worth it.

In fact, doing a blue-themed cosplay at conventions is not just about the superficial outfit; more importantly, it's about restoring that temperament through facial expressions, movements, and the environment. I hope this sharing can let everyone feel the unique charm of this Shorekeeper look.
