From receiving the costume to finalizing the photos, this Wuthering Waves Denia Cosplay shoot took about half a month of adjustments. We selected a spacious exhibition hall with high ceilings, whose industrial framework provided the perfect backdrop for adding bubble visual effects in post-processing without cluttering the composition.

Starting with the makeup and styling: the pink-to-blue gradient wig was the highlight of the look. To achieve the voluminous, layered texture of the original character design, I repeatedly combed and styled the hair wefts, firmly securing the twin buns on top with hairspray and accenting them with white bows to preserve that airy feel. The black lace headband across the forehead intertwined with golden necklaces and chains, enhancing the overall delicacy. Blue colored contacts paired with warm-toned eye makeup stood out with brilliant clarity under cool-toned studio lighting.

The outfit is exceptionally layered. The upper body features a white fitted corset with metal clasps and golden stitching on both the front and back, reinforced internally with boning to maintain a sharp silhouette. Over it sits a pair of pink translucent lantern sleeves; their generous volume flows effortlessly with every slight movement, though it required constant readjusting during shooting. The little black bear plush at the waist is an adorable detail—I spent ages sourcing a matching version to stitch onto the belt as an embellishment. The lower black pleated skirt is tailored from a slightly lustrous fabric with gold embroidery along the hem, revealing white lace underneath. The dark blue cape cascading from the back waist is adorned with a white starry sky pattern; to prevent it from dragging on the floor, I lightly pinned it to ensure a natural, elegant drape.

The prop staff is equally well-crafted. The crescent moon ring and pink orb at the top serve as the visual focal points, while the metallic spikes and stars are coated in silver paint. The staff carries noticeable weight, meaning my forearm had to stay engaged while maintaining natural facial expressions during poses; it took dozens of continuous takes to pick the perfect shot.

In terms of posing, I aimed to convey Denia's approachable warmth. Wearing red leather gloves, I tilted my head slightly while gesturing toward my cheek to lend a lively charm. For the standing pose holding the staff, leaning my center of gravity slightly backward elongated the leg lines. The most unique third shot required me to balance perched atop a transparent acrylic stand with my legs suspended mid-air; post-processing layered giant bubbles and floor water splashes onto this base, yielding that dreamy visual aesthetic.

For lighting, because the ambient light was somewhat scattered, I had the photography assistant set up softboxes on both sides. The black chunky-heeled Mary Janes were my own addition—they not only added height but also elevated the overall completeness of the ensemble, complementing the bare-leg look to lengthen my proportions.

Throughout the shoot, we continuously refined costume details, checked wig flow, and extensively deliberated on the size and color palette of the post-production bubbles. The core aim of this set was to capture Denia's whimsical dreaminess and the intricate craftsmanship of the outfit beyond surface-level glamour. Every image underwent meticulous color grading to preserve fabric textures and natural skin tones. I hope everyone can feel the dedication poured into this project.
