[Firefly cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail, Shenzhen Dongwan Convention Photos Record

This time I brought my Firefly cosplay setup to complete a set of convention photos at the Shenzhen Dongwan Convention, shot by photographer @DreamOrange📷. The shooting environment was a real anime convention scene inside the venue, with light coming from overhead strip lights. While the atmosphere was bustling, the photographer skillfully used a wide aperture to blur out the background crowd, making the main subject stand out much better.

For the outfit, a classic white sailor suit coat was selected, accented with a mint green bow tie at the neckline. The coat features double-breasted gold buttons and an embroidered laurel wreath badge on the left arm, offering rich details. The lower half consists of a grey-blue pleated plaid skirt paired with opaque white tights and black platform loafers, creating an overall daily feel leaning toward an academy style. I especially want to mention the small golden patterns on the white thigh-highs outfit; though small, they offer extra visual interest under the light. For the wig, I spent some effort in advance using a silver-white base naturally transitioning from mid-length into light ice blue at the ends. Bangs were trimmed for an airy feel, paired with stray hair strands on both cheeks, hoping to get closer to the character's light and nimble nature.

To match the overall color tone, light ice-blue contact lenses were chosen for makeup, with a wide pink smudge swept over the outer eye corners and under-eye area. This under-eye blush technique enhances a cool yet dreamy touch to the overall aura. For headwear, a grey headband decorated with small teal feather accents was worn, offering well-coordinated detail. The handheld prop was a dark brown leather briefcase featuring a brass shield-shaped badge latch, which nicely enriched composition elements whether held in hand or placed beside me.

During the shoot, we spread a white plush blanket on the ground, which isolated the drab floor while creating a harmonious extension in color with white hair and white socks. We tried several different poses during the shoot, including sitting sideways, saluting, kneeling on one knee holding the bag, and a casual seated pose showing off leg lines in the final photo. The posture in the last shot was perfect for showcasing the combination of tights and loafers, nicely highlighting character contours and outfit details under the lights.

Regarding photography, bright overhead ceiling lights inside venues easily cause facial shadows, but the photographer handled it very professionally, preserving 3D facial depth while preventing highlights on the white top and silver-white hair from overexposing. At large offline conventions like this, capturing clean photos relies not only on controlling aperture and depth of field, but also on capturing instant character postures. Throughout the photoset, the costume didn't feel overly heavy or cumbersome, making walking and posing very convenient. The final shots achieved initial expectations in both picture texture and character atmosphere, making this a very smooth Shenzhen convention photos log.
