This outdoor shoot took place along an open coastline, backed by rolling distant mountains and facing the deep blue sea. To present the character's gentle and quiet setting, I chose this dress dominated by bright blue and pure white. The materials are mainly lightweight chiffon and semi-sheer organza, which have great fluidity in the wind. The wig was selected in a pale aqua blue, trimmed with layered texture, and paired with light curtain bangs and a thick tail, showing a natural light-transmitting effect under strong outdoor light. For the makeup, I kept the color palette elegant and simple, emphasizing the contours of the eye makeup and wearing light purple-blue contact lenses to make the gaze look more ethereal.

The actual environment on the day of the shoot was quite a test. The sea breeze was very strong, and the long veil was frequently blown across my face, wrapped around my arms, or even flew up to block the lens. To capture a single moment where both the hair and the dress hem fluttered naturally, the shutter usually had to be pressed many times consecutively, followed by filtering through a massive amount of discarded frames. Fortunately, the photographer @森妹SENMEi! was highly experienced, adjusting the standing positions and shooting angles in a timely manner, utilizing front light and side light to counteract the messiness caused by the wind, turning the dynamic movement of the wind into an advantage for the frame. The prop bouquet would also shake wildly in the sea breeze, requiring gentle stabilization by hand.

Regarding the light, the natural light that day was exceptionally intense; although it was a clear day, it also brought harsh shadows. To ensure that the character's skin tone was even and presented a translucent state, we made some trade-offs in focusing and exposure. Meanwhile, to adapt to this kind of seascape, during post-processing color grading, we chose to slightly lower the overall contrast and lean the colors toward a cooler tone, preserving the real-world horizon and the shimmering sea surface to keep the frame from looking too dry, making the color transitions more natural.

Shooting while walking barefoot on the beach actually required overcoming some sensitivity to pebbles and shells. The rough texture of the sand particles underfoot and the slight chill as the waves receded directly brought authentic physical feedback; this kind of immersion is something studio shoots completely fail to achieve. The skirt hem is very long, so even while walking on the beach, I had to be extremely careful to avoid getting too much mud and sand on it, which would affect the visual appeal. We shot wide-angle full-body environments and also captured half-body and facial close-ups, striving to display the design details of this costume from all dimensions. Consuming a massive amount of energy on hair and clothing before heading out every day felt completely worth it after seeing the final results of this Seaside cosplay.

Looking back at the entire shoot, despite being exposed to the scorching sun for several hours, we harvested many vivid and agile images. I hope this set of photos based on outdoor natural elements can relatively completely restore the gentle and clear impression this character brings to people in this Anime-style photography project.
