[Kasugano Sora cosplay] Sharing a blue-and-white porcelain modified cheongsam look from Yosuga no Sora

Cosplaying Kasugano Sora this time, I didn't opt for the most conventional white school uniform or dress. Instead, I created a visual extension based on the character's classic white hair and cool, aloof demeanor, choosing a modified cheongsam bodysuit featuring blue-and-white porcelain elements. Combining traditional Modified Chinese style elements with classic 2D characters creates a remarkably unique texture. The wig is pure white hair with straight bangs, styled with symmetrical buns on both sides tied with long black ribbons; paired with fair, translucent base makeup and natural light pink lip color, this forms the essential foundation to recreate Sora's pure aura.

The design details of this cheongsam are well worth savoring. The mandarin collar cut accentuates the neck beautifully, with classic black frog buttons extending down from the neckline, while a teardrop cutout is cleverly placed on the chest. This cutout breaks the dignified, heavy impression typically associated with blue-and-white porcelain, adding a touch of 2D-exclusive playfulness and subtle sexiness to her inherent purity. The solid white tights paired on the lower body elegantly contour the leg lines while seamlessly connecting with the light base color of the top. This White thigh-highs outfit and extensive use of white appears exceptionally bright and clean in cool-toned lighting, greatly emphasizing Sora's characteristic distance and sense of purity.

To prevent the composition from feeling monotonous, I brought along a light blue-gray long-eared plush rabbit prop. The prop's low color saturation perfectly matched my white blue-and-white porcelain outfit and the light gray sofa in the background, creating a low-saturation color palette. In the first shot, I held the rabbit dangling by its ears, a movement that broke my original seated posture and brought out a lively, playful feel. The second photo is my personal favorite: placing the rabbit flat on top of my head, supporting it with one hand while gazing directly into the camera lens. This posture naturally displayed body stretch while making me feel truly immersed in the character's casual, cute state. The third shot captures holding the plushie in my arms with hands crossed, instantly quieting the image into a remarkably obedient, sweet mood.

Regarding photography, we specifically used very soft diffuse light without creating harsh shadows, enveloping the entire scene in a faint cool tone. The photographer used a large aperture for a shallow depth of field, softening the background sofa and other plush toys into blocks of color, fully focusing viewer attention on the subject. This transparent, clean studio style fits Sora's inherent cold, aloof trait exceptionally well.

Of course, Cosplay isn't just about putting on an outfit to take pretty photos. Every time I face the camera, I need to figure out the character's inner self through expressions and movements. Sora possesses her own unique strength and stubbornness in the story, creating a sharp contrast between her delicate appearance and firm will. In this shoot, I tried my best to capture this depth, attempting to convey rich, delicate emotions beneath her cold exterior through my eyes. This blue-and-white porcelain modified design was a heartfelt attempt, adding some of my own aesthetic understanding without straying from the character's core setting. Although adjusting postures and expressions during shooting took a lot of effort, presenting such a satisfying final photo set makes all the preparation completely worthwhile. This is what I find most charming about cosplay—recreating the classic, yet going beyond mere recreation.
