Putting on a dress of light blue and white tulle, the blue butterfly in my hand landed right where my gaze could reach. Those who often shoot light-colored outfits probably understand that with this kind of cool-toned light blue, if the ambient light or post-processing isn't done right, it's very easy for the skin to look grayish. Therefore, brightening the skin and preserving its translucent quality became the most time-consuming part of the post-processing for this set of photos.

Fortunately, the main light source in the studio was relatively soft, and with the dark blue backdrop, it successfully separated the character from any messy background, giving the image a sense of deep-sea-like quiet space. The layering of the costume itself was also a focus of this shoot. The layered paneled transparent tulle, paired with the crystal button placket and fine metal chains on the chest, allowed the white and light blue to have different refraction effects under the light and shadow. The accompanying transparent crystal veil was deliberately sprinkled with fine glitter, creating a shimmering visual effect under the light that blended nicely with the light blue hair color. The blue butterfly in my hand served as a key prop; besides holding it in front of my face, I tried placing it on my collarbone and wrist, using different distances to complement the lens focal length, making the transition between movements and expressions more natural.

For the makeup, the light blue colored contacts and matching lower eyelashes were the source of the atmosphere. Instead of heavy makeup, I used blended eyeshadow and a touch of tiny sequins at the corners of my eyes to make my gaze look clearer and lighter. In addition to sitting poses, I also tried positions like leaning back supported by one hand or tilting my head slightly. Compared to a completely stiff standing pose, this relaxed and casual structure can better convey the essence of cool-toned photography. Furthermore, stepping directly barefoot on the layers of stacked deep blue fabric guides the viewer's eyes along the leg lines to the bottom of the frame much better than wearing shoes, making the overall composition flow more smoothly.

There were actually some minor episodes during the shoot, such as constantly needing to adjust the folds of the blue tulle and reflective fabrics on the ground to prevent them from looking too cluttered and ruining the overall premium feel. In terms of post-processing tones, other than slightly brightening the skin, I mostly kept a cool blue-green palette to maintain a tranquil atmosphere, like moonlight shining on the sea surface. This time, whether it was the styling details or the coordination of the overall frame, everything was aimed at matching the character's inherent temperament. Being able to truly present the concepts of a dreamy elf portrait through photography is probably the most rewarding part of cosplay itself.
