[Shenhe cosplay] Genshin Impact Lantern Rite: Teyvat Auntie's Stunning Moments & Studio BTS

This Lantern Rite themed Shenhe cosplay is finally out to meet everyone! I'm personally extremely satisfied with my condition in the main photoset—the pictures not only captured the character's cool detachment, but also perfectly nailed the easy, confident elegance of "Auntie". The location chosen for this shoot was Jilin Fantasy Vision Studio, where the Traditional Chinese style cosplay set was truly full of atmosphere. The bamboo scrolls spread across the table, the wooden Chinese chairs, the ancient books on the shelves behind, and the textures created by lanterns and calligraphy banners were simply a match made in heaven for Shenhe's look.

In terms of hair and makeup, this long silver-blue hair was specially styled into an updo with braids, complemented by metallic and blue tassel hair accessories that instantly maxed out character recognizability. As for the costume, this dark-based, gold-threaded modified traditional miniskirt paired with detached puff sleeves not only preserved the flowy feel of the original design, but also allowed for fantastic physical extension in front of the lens. In particular, the skirt's waist cutout details and golden textures, along with the metallic-textured decorative lines drawn on my legs, paired with black pointed high heels, made my silhouette look exceptionally long and slender in the frame.

The entire shooting process was a creative journey full of fun. Special thanks to my crew member and photographer Yinyin! She single-handedly handled all my logistics this time—holding the reflector, adjusting the long train's position, and serving as on-site stagehand and pose director. Photos from the BTS perspective in Figure 2 and Figure 4 show that quite a lot of thought went into building the scene. Reflective film on the floor and scattered blue hydrangea petals, paired with the photographer's clever lighting, managed to turn an indoor studio into a watery, dreamlike realm.

Since we chose a Lantern Rite theme this time, the overall light and shadow tones leaned warm. The warm glow from adjacent yellow lanterns shining on banners and face created a sophisticated interplay of warmth and coldness against cool-colored attire and hair. If you look closely at this photoset, you'll notice some are finished shots, while others are mirror selfies and side shots carrying a touch of casual life. The photo in Figure 5 taken in the dressing room mirror was casually snapped as I looked at my reflection while still in full gear after shooting. The mirror selfie and the sitting formal shots in the studio offer two totally different vibes; the mirror angle feels more casual and comfortably languid, making it my first time sharing from this perspective.

Trying out this style of Chinese fantasy look was a new breakthrough for me. Shenhe herself is a character rich in story and tension in Genshin Impact, and the Lantern Rite element imbued the imagery with a touch of worldly warmth. Rather than simply copying her every gesture, I wanted to convey a unique temperament—detached yet inviting intimacy—under this specific festive theme.

Many small details in the photos, such as the translucent round fan in my hand, were huge bonuses. Changing my fan-holding pose during Cosplay photography, revealing a bit of the red string on my wrist, or casually lifting one leg gave the frame a completely different narrative feel. Through this collaboration with Jilin Fantasy Vision Studio and Yinyin's super awesome logistics support, I materialized the "Lantern Rite Auntie" in my heart. Hope this dedicated visual presentation lets everyone see my ongoing efforts to improve in cosplay.
