[Shu cosplay] Arknights: Descent from the Snow Mountain, Ancient style cosplay Photoshoot Experience with White flowers

For this Arknights Shu cosplay photoshoot, matching the styling with the set was our primary focus during pre-production. The Silver hair wig required layered styling with blue and yellow gradients. The headpiece was extraordinarily intricate, incorporating dragon horn-like structures, coral branches, and various metallic pendants, which required multiple bobby pins and styling gel to secure onto the wig so they wouldn't shift when turning my head. The costume was a pure white flowing robe made of fabric with subtle sheen and patterned prints; paired with a floor-length tulle train, it was quite heavy, but had an incredible drape. The shooting location was set in a traditional Chinese classical courtyard with carved doors and windows, where the abundance of White flowers in the background was a central visual highlight. To create a crisp, dignified atmosphere, the lighting on set was specially tailored to make the White flowers and the fabric's luster echo each other. The white bird in my hands was a custom prop; though lightweight, as the visual focal point, I had to constantly monitor my finger positioning—neither gripping too stiffly nor holding too loosely. On the table, blue-and-white porcelain vases, an incense burner, and wheat stalks were arranged, all echoing the character's innate agricultural and divine temperament. During the shoot, the photographer paid close attention to balancing static and dynamic elements—such as having me sit on a rattan chair or lean against the table edge, slightly shifting my center of gravity while gazing at the bird in my hands, allowing the gauze skirt to drape naturally to give the photos a breathable, organic feel. Fully aware of the physical constraints of this styling, I carefully controlled the range of my head and body movements to keep the headpiece intact while highlighting the elegant lines of the outfit. The arrangement of White flowers in this set truly captured the essence, and surrounding branches and petals served as natural foreground elements, enriching the frame's depth of field. Anticipating potential shoots from other angles, I made sure to carry extra hairspray and setting spray for quick touch-ups. In post-processing, we focused on preserving garment textures and the metallic luster of the headpieces, while unifying the color grading between the background White flowers and the wig. Overall, the shooting process went smoothly, and after several rounds of refining expressions and posture, we successfully captured this Ancient style cosplay visual record.
