This time, I'm bringing you a Jane Doe cosplay from Zenless Zone Zero, which took over a month of forward-and-backward preparation from pattern making to prop crafting. The silver-gray fabric for the coat was chosen after a long search to achieve that techwear and Tactical style texture. The fur collar on the shoulders and the straps were repeatedly adjusted to ensure it looks sharp without appearing bloated when worn. The black turtleneck inner layer and red tie are the finishing touches, with a cinched waist design to recreate the character's efficient yet slightly rebellious temperament.
The most time-consuming part was the boots and the leg strap structure, which had to be easy to put on and take off while keeping its shape intact during movements. On the day of the shoot, the Armory scene was stacked with ammo boxes and weapon props, and the cool-toned lighting that poured down perfectly matched the character's combat atmosphere. To capture a sense of battle, I experimented with multiple compositions including standing with weapons, sitting with raised legs, and kneeling on alert. The photographer's snapshots were very steady, capturing that tension of being ready to plunge into battle at any moment.
In addition to the costume itself, I also specially practiced the expressions and posture. Jane Doe in the game is the kind of agent who seems casual but is actually highly alert, so I intentionally maintained a slightly lowered gaze and a relaxed yet ready-to-strike shoulder line. The ripped details on the black stockings were also manually processed, with frayed edges and wire-drawing effects to make the battle-damaged feel more authentic. The overall atmosphere of this shoot was spot on; the industrial feel of the Armory and the character's anime attributes collided to create a wonderful chemical reaction. I hope everyone can feel the dedication behind this set of Anime cosplay.
