Shooting this finished Laevatain photo set actually took a lot of thought from the early preparation to the actual execution. Regarding the costume, the most headache-inducing parts for me were those asymmetrical details—the geometric diamond patterns on the white collar and the spike decorations on the black patent leather gloves. To recreate that tough yet slightly gorgeous feeling, the pattern-making was modified many times. I also spent a long time choosing the red wig, searching for a layered look that would appear voluminous and flowing on camera, and the final test results turned out quite well. The location was chosen at an abandoned industrial warehouse. The rusted iron mesh, stacked wooden crates, and walls covered in English graffiti inside naturally brought a post-war wasteland vibe. To complement Laevatain's red and black color scheme, the lighting intentionally used highly saturated warm red side-lighting, elevating the originally cold and dark space into a twilight battlefield atmosphere. During the shoot, smoke cakes and gravel were used. Those captured moments of flying gravel and swirling smoke were actually caught after repeatedly adjusting the angles on site. The greatsword prop was heavier than imagined; I had to control my center of gravity when wielding it with one hand, otherwise the movements could easily look stiff. However, this physical weight actually gave me a greater sense of immersion when posing. Whether in a squatting stance, a slashing motion, or a casual posture sitting on an ammunition box, I tried my best to find the character's calm confidence, paired with the tension of being ready to face danger at any moment. Not much excessive editing was done in post-processing; it was mainly about unifying the ambient light into a texture reflected by roaring flames, creating a visual conflict between the red hair and the white shirt. Overall, the core concept of this photo set is \"flames illuminating the twilight,\" hoping to bring out the battle-damaged ruin feel from the game alongside the character's dashing demeanor. I hope everyone enjoys this version of Laevatain. If you have any questions regarding the details of cosplay prop making or lighting setups, feel free to reach out and chat with me anytime.
