Shooting while propping myself up with one hand and aiming the gun is far more difficult to control than it looks. On-site, it required mobilizing my entire body's core muscle groups to maintain this high-difficulty side-support pose while simultaneously managing my facial expressions and aiming the prop gun at the camera lensāa slight wobble could cause a loss of balance. This frozen moment of action took many takes to finally select the most satisfying version. On that day, I started practicing right on the floor tiles of the anime convention venue, with quite a few friends watching around us.
The details I cared most about for this outfit were the overall sporty style of the red, white, and black color scheme, along with these cuts that carry a bit of street techwear/functional vibe. The round-rimmed glasses and double buns give the entire look a refreshing yet recognizable feel. The texture of the white outerwear looks exceptionally clean under the lights, and the layered styling on the legsāincluding that pair of white loose socks adorned with pink ribbons and the thick-soled sneakersāmatches the overall dynamic image perfectly. The prop gun combined with this posture not only creates a horizontal extension in the overall composition but also adds a touch of cool flair.
The lighting angle was a major focus, as finding a light source suitable for shooting a side-suspended action pose in this type of exhibition venue is no easy task. This set of photos utilized natural light filtering through the tall glass windows, casting a crisp shadow right on the floor tiles, making the light and shadow layers of the frame appear quite three-dimensional. Before taking photos, I repeatedly adjusted the fit of my jacket in front of the mirror to prevent it from bunching up unevenly due to the large range of movement.
Shooting outdoor locations or convention photos in the summer is always a test of physical endurance. Even with air conditioning, high-intensity dynamic poses can easily cause sweating. Fortunately, this outfit has good breathability, and coupled with stable makeup, the final photo effects are quite satisfying. Participating in the creator incentive program is actually a challenge for myself, hoping to convey that clean and confident feeling of the character through this materialized action presentation from Slay the Gods(Anime). If you are also trying similar high-difficulty cosplay moves, I suggest paying extra attention to tightening your core under safe conditions to avoid injury.
