[Suisui cosplay] Wuthering Waves: Chinese Fantasy Night Under the Moon

The cut and design of this outfit really put body proportions to the test. The main white one-piece dress features extensive golden feather and flame motifs, while the black-and-gold cutout design at the chest is richly layered—accentuated by red cords and bead strings for a striking visual impact. Although the spliced navy water sleeves on the shoulders were quite challenging to control while posing, they have a gorgeous drape. To faithfully recreate every detail, I wore short dark-red gloves paired with layered silver bangles and pearl bracelets at the wrists. The subtle sheen of the nude pantyhose looked exceptionally smooth under the studio lighting, and together with the deep blue, gold-trimmed high heels, they not only flattered the leg line but also elevated the overall elegance.

For hair and makeup, the blonde wig was custom-highlighted with a soft yellow-green gradient, keeping the ends looking as natural as possible. The vertical black mark right down the center of the forehead required a very steady hand to draw cleanly. On the right side of the headpiece, the red tassel, illustrated paper charms, and metallic hairpin served as true visual highlights, bringing a lovely dynamic flow to movements and poses.

Since the character is named Suisui—a homophone in Chinese playing on the blessing 'may every year be safe and sound'—we deliberately crafted a classical fantasy night-banquet ambiance for the set. The massive full moon and encircling pale-pink cherry blossoms in the background, complemented by dark wooden lattice screens and doors, fully captured the rich essence of Eastern architecture. Lighting-wise, the key light was precisely directed onto facial contours and body curves while keeping the background softly dimmed to enhance depth and dimensionality.

Sitting on a wooden bench draped with a plush white rug naturally restricted the range of movement, so I experimented with diverse poses to enrich each shot. For example, leaning on the bench with one hand while holding up a translucent blue-green fan patterned in gold with the other guided the focal point; crossing hands gracefully over the chest brought out a poised, dignified demeanor; and holding an antique dark book added an air of literary grace. Every gesture was chosen to express the character's classical elegance blended with an aura of mystery through body language. The entire shoot prioritized the nuanced play of light and shadow, and I hope these photos fully convey the character's unique charm and atmosphere.
