Today, the photos from this Wuthering Waves Hsin cosplay shoot are finally ready. The wig is long White hair with black highlights, which took an extraordinary amount of time to style. The black-and-white fox Animal ears perched atop my head were fluffy and possessed fantastic texture, though they tended to tilt during the shoot and required constant readjustments. The outfit was an Ancient style dress in a black-and-red palette; the bandeau neckline was embedded with blue gemstones, while the outer red robe was trimmed with white fur along its edges, layered with light blue sheer chiffon cascading down the sleeves and back to create rich visual depth. To faithfully recreate the character's defining traits, I brought along an enormous grayish-white plush tail—incredibly fluffy, which looked like a gigantic plush cushion when laid out on the stone steps.
For makeup, I deliberately chose red eyeshadow and crimson contacts, shaping the eyebrows softly to convey the nimble charm of a fox spirit. The tattoo sticker on my collarbone and the leg garter details also took considerable time to arrange. Sitting barefoot on the stone steps was quite chilly on the bare ground, but pushing through was completely worth it for the visual result.
The outdoor location was chosen at traditional Chinese ancient architecture, where wooden lattice windows, vermilion pillars, and stone steps provided abundant atmospheric resonance. The natural daylight today was very gentle and diffused, giving the raw photos clean and translucent skin tones. In terms of posing, I explored various seated angles; because the garments featured extensive flowing chiffon, I had to pay close attention to fabric drape during movements to avoid bunched folds making the silhouette look bulky. That fluffy, oversized tail served not only as a prop, but also played a wonderful visual balancing role in the frame.
Slipping into this outfit, donning the fox Animal ears, and hugging the giant tail evoked a truly magical sensation. I felt that Hsin's image embodies an elegant and nimble grace while radiating a raw, untamed wild beauty. Padding around barefoot on the stones while constantly holding up my skirt hem to avoid stepping on it made the entire process both hectic and deeply enjoyable.
When it comes to cosplay, I believe a faithful recreation lies not only in the exquisite craftsmanship of the costume, but also in the harmony between facial expressions and body language. For instance, lightly stroking my cheek with a hand or turning my torso to glance back toward the camera required keeping my gaze subtly aloof yet languid. Putting on and taking off this costume was quite intricate, especially fastening the waist and shoulders; the inner lining had to sit completely smooth to support the lightweight chiffon layers outside. The dark damask jacquard patterns on the red outer robe enhanced the outfit's tactile luxury. The light blue sheer fabric fluttered beautifully while walking, which is why I chose dynamic seated poses. The massive tail was actually strapped securely behind my waist, requiring continuous core balance to keep from tilting backward. Location scouting was exceptionally crucial: the gray brick walls and carved wooden windows of the traditional architecture complemented these Ancient style elements seamlessly, bringing high visual contrast to the frame. The barefoot choice presented outdoor challenges, but it lent the overall styling an airy lightness, eliminating visual heaviness. While posing, I extended my leg lines as much as possible, using the elevation difference of the stone steps to enrich the composition's layers. In short, this was a deeply dedicated endeavor, and I hope to convey Hsin's aloof and languid aura through these static photographs.
