[Suisui cosplay] Wuthering Waves x Tao Tao Ju Collaboration: Golden-Haired Chinese Style Mature Woman Showcase

For this Wuthering Waves x Tao Tao Ju Collaboration, I spent a good while preparing before finally capturing this set for Suisui.

First, let's explore the garment construction. The top features a crisp white stand-up collar with an off-the-shoulder cut in a structured textile, accented at the bust with a gilded floral tassel brooch and draped pearl bead strands. This union of mandarin collar and bare shoulders visually flatters the neck and collarbone contours. The sleeves are voluminous detached sleeves: the outer layer is composed of white lace, while the inner lining splices dark green and black striped fabric edged with golden piping. When lifting the arms or turning, the sleeve layers flare with striking definition, with the bold green and black contrast lending grounded poise to the ensemble.

The skirt is crafted primarily from golden brocade fabric woven with intricate floral damask textures and prints. The waistline features elaborate embellishments: a slender belt, suspended gold chains, floral tassel pendants, pearls, and deep green ribbon ties. A high side slit across the skirt reveals leg lines during walking or posing, pairing seamlessly with black stiletto pumps to elevate bodily proportions.

The wig is styled in long golden curls, shaped with distinct hair loops and an ahoge cowlick along the crown. To accentuate the character's lively charm, gilded blossoms and pearl tassel ornaments clip to the left side. For makeup, I went with pink-toned eye cosmetics paired with amber-brown contact lenses, finished with pronounced cheek blush. This palette catches outdoor natural light effortlessly, delivering a radiant complexion even without heavy camera filters.

The prop of choice is an off-white folding fan painted with subtle botanical patterns. During shooting, a folding fan acts as a versatile interactive device—raised in one hand to guide the viewer's sightline, or held halfway across the cheek. In Photo 1, lifting one leg back while resting one hand on the background screen and the other on the fan highlights the skirt tailoring and dynamic tension of the garment. Photos 2 and 3 focus on medium close-ups, highlighting the blouse construction and brooch detail.

The location was set outdoors before a decorative lattice screen over green artificial turf, accented by string lights and potted plants. Despite being outdoors, harsh direct light required careful angle adjustments to keep facial exposure balanced and smooth. A white portable evaporative cooler was humming nearby—a bit of an eye-catcher, but an authentic peek into our behind-the-scenes set.

Speaking of the Tao Tao Ju collaboration, as a Guangzhou native, I have deep nostalgia for Tao Tao Ju dim sum and pastries. The packaging for the collaborative mooncakes was wonderfully distinctive. Portraying Suisui around the Mid-Autumn Festival felt exceptionally fitting.

Regarding posing mechanics, the expansive sleeves and billowing skirt meant movements had to stay fluid rather than stiff, utilizing waist rotation and extended arm lines to let the textiles drape and flow. Since this styling leans toward a mature Onee-san aura, I deliberately projected composed confidence through my gaze, which, paired with the delicate grip on the fan, delivered a very satisfying outcome.
