[Nilou cosplay] Genshin Impact: Dedicating the Dance of Sabzeruz to You

I've finally compiled a set of photos I'm satisfied with for this Nilou cosplay based on the Dance of Sabzeruz! Because I love Nilou's dance movements and graceful temperament in Genshin Impact so much, I specially put together this high-fidelity outfit for a home shoot. Regarding the costume, its main color scheme is white and light blue with delicate jacquard textures and tailoring. The cropped top naturally shows off the character's unique body contours while retaining plenty of lightness. The golden collar around the neck is eye-catching, inlaid with her iconic teal gemstone and adorned with several golden teardrop pendants. The metallic texture reflects light wonderfully on camera, adding a rich sense of gorgeousness.

The wig and headpiece are the highlights of this styling. The red wig features high color saturation with neatly trimmed bangs, keeping her signature fluffy texture and straight bangs; the top section required patient combing to maintain a natural curve. The headpiece is assembled from a metal framework, dark curved horns, and gold fittings, with golden teardrop pendants dangling over the forehead looking exceptionally vivid. I had to be very careful adjusting angles during shooting to prevent them from covering my eyes. Since the headpiece has some weight, it needs to be securely fastened with clips and hairspray to ensure it doesn't tilt out of place while pulling various poses.

For makeup, I chose green colored contacts to replicate her eye color, paired with soft peachy-orange eyeshadow and curled eyelashes. The eye makeup focused on giving the eyes a lively glow, conveying her vitality whether blinking or gazing directly into the lens. For lip makeup, I used a soft peach lip gloss so it wouldn't look too heavy. My nails were specially painted dark purple, which harmonizes beautifully with the overall color scheme upon application. I'm particularly fond of the pose in Photo 2 where my hand reaches forward—combined with subtle finger movements near the neckline, it feels like inviting everyone to dance together.

The shooting location was right at my usual desktop area, with the pink gaming chair in the background serving as a nice touch. Most interesting of all, I deliberately lit up the computer monitor to display Nilou's character stats screen in Genshin Impact. The 3D model on screen and my real-life cosplay appearance exist in the frame simultaneously, creating a sense of breaking the 2D boundary. Completing this shoot at my desk offers a cozy touch of daily life while reinforcing the character's original setting. RGB lights from peripherals and light from the monitor cast dappled reflections on the desk and my arms, adding richer layers of light and shadow to the photos.

When posing, the gold arm guards and wide white bell sleeves required deliberate posture to express naturally. The horns on the headpiece and metal pieces around the collar are rigid, whereas the sleeves and skirt hem are soft—this interplay of hard and soft creates the visual tension of the Dance of Sabzeruz on camera. I tried selecting diverse poses, from a gentle smile gazing ahead to a playful wink with closed eyes, striving to capture her elegant and lively grace from my own perspective. Nilou in Genshin Impact is like a beautiful flower goddess, and presenting this look today aims to render that visual beauty through real-world cosplay. Editing these photos, I feel the makeup and lighting complemented each other quite well, each shot conveying distinct emotions. I hope this set brings everyone a refreshing visual experience.
