This time I'm sharing a Unicorn Cosplay look from Azur Lane, putting a lot of thought into recreating everything from the wig to the entire outfit. The iconic ahoge on top of her head is the soul of character fidelity; to keep its curved, three-dimensional arch, I embedded a thin aluminum wire inside the wig for styling. The light purple long hair presents a soft texture under indoor lighting, tied on both sides with black velvet ribbon bows to maintain her gentle aesthetic while adding a playful detail. The white oversized knit sweater feels remarkably comfortable, while the attached black sailor collar and pink trailing ribbon create a clean, crisp color palette. This JK-style pleated skirt paired with a White thigh-highs outfit and dark brown loafers visually elongates the leg line while preserving her pure, youthful energy.
During the shoot, I deliberately adjusted the Mirror selfie camera angle to showcase the full proportions of the outfit. In the second image, I chose to sit cross-legged on the floor with one arm naturally raised—a posture that highlights the heart-shaped waist pouch while displaying the layered styling of the White thigh-highs outfit and loafers. The yellow chick plushie beside me reinforces character lore, serving as a floor prop to give the frame more interactivity and narrative charm. The uniform tone of the white tights under the light, combined with the loose sweater and short skirt, beautifully brings out her signature soft, cute aura. Unicorn is designed in-game as an affectionate character with a distinct little sister vibe, so I kept my shoulders relaxed and hand movements casual to maintain a comfortable, homey feel.
For the outfit, I selected a thick, quality fabric—the knit top is genuinely warm for real-world wear without looking cheap. The pleated skirt features pink piping, staying as close as possible to the original character design. Casual Mirror selfie shots test overall outfit coordination and natural motion; sitting down can easily create unwanted wrinkles, so I smoothed out the skirt and top before shooting to ensure the sailor collar remained straight. The heart bag hanging at the waist creates a great visual accent, brightening the ensemble as a complementary pop of color. For wig care, I used a touch of smoothing spray to prevent frizz, allowing the purple hair to cascade naturally without tangles. Although Unicorn's design tilts toward gentle healing, this casual outfit is completely wearable in real life, striking a perfect balance between fidelity and practicality.
Creating a cosplay with such a distinct style requires more than just the outfit—your mindset while shooting is equally crucial. Mirror selfie photography relies heavily on the ambient vibe reflected in the glass, so I specifically picked a clean white wall and a pink-framed full-length mirror as a backdrop to avoid clutter. While adjusting my cross-legged pose, I lowered the camera angle slightly to elongate the calves wrapped in white tights and shoes. The raised hand in the second image breaks up the flatness of a front-facing seated pose, adding dynamic tension. This character is hugely popular in the community, so I kept thinking about how to bridge her anime traits with a grounded sense of reality. Without exaggerated expressions or forced poses, maintaining a soft, cozy, and gentle mood delivers a genuine slice of everyday life. This final result fulfills anime fans' expectations while preserving my personal take on everyday fashion as a cosplayer. Sharing this set is mainly to document my recent creative state; the styling process and tweaking prop details were immensely enjoyable.
