Wearing this classic black Sailor suit, I felt as though I had stepped into that tranquil world once again. This time, I cosplayed Shimako Todo from Maria-sama ga Miteru. The passage in the post description about travelers left a deep impression on me, so during the shoot, I infused that quiet, detached, yet mutually relying atmosphere into every single frame.
Let's first talk about this styling. Shimako Todo's signature look is a black long-sleeved dress with a white sailor collar and black-striped cuffs, tied with a white ribbon bow at the chest. For accuracy, I made sure to pair it with that long silver rosary necklace, which draped across the skirt hem and clinked very softly with each step. The wig featured long brown curly hair with full, straight-across bangs; the large curls at the ends needed to be styled with natural volume so they wouldn't look stiff. For makeup, lip color was toned down while emphasizing the eyes and blush, crafting a slightly melancholic yet serene, ethereal presence. On my feet, I paired glossy black Mary Jane shoes with pure White socks in a mid-calf cut, completing this classic uniform aesthetic.
We visited three distinct settings for this shoot. In the studio, the solid backdrop allowed me to focus purely on expressing emotions through body language—whether leaning against a cylindrical prop or joining hands in prayer, I sought that internal state of deep calm. In the classroom scene, sitting at a desk lost in thought with my cheek resting on my hand, or clutching books while standing by the window, naturally channeled the tender youth and poignant solitude unique to school grounds. In the vintage European setting, holding a brown suitcase beside a leather sofa or holding a white bouquet while looking back over my shoulder added a touch of heavy reflection and quiet release after a long journey.
The posture that left the deepest impression on me was sitting on the desk with legs gently crossed and body tilted slightly forward. This pose actually demanded solid core stability, but it rendered wonderful lines on camera. The contrast between the White socks and the black skirt hem provided rich visual layering. Every time I wear this uniform and put on that rosary, I unconsciously slow my breathing. Just as described in the post, we are like travelers on an endless journey who chose to rest beneath the same tree's shade without speaking. Even if parting ways is inevitable, merely sensing each other's presence grants true tranquility to the soul.
This photo collection avoids exaggerated expressions or dynamic poses, relying instead on static compositions to convey an unspoken tacit understanding. I hope when you look through these photos, you too can feel the quiet strength within them.
