For this Fujiwara no Mokou cosplay, here are the convention photos from ANE! This time, the makeup and outfit are mainly based on a red and white color scheme. This kind of design with a Chinese-style ACG trend is actually quite exquisite. The row of buttons on the top, the square patterns on the bloomers (resembling paper talisman script prints), combined with the iconic long straight white hair and large red and white hair bows, allowed many fellow fans to recognize me as the immortal Mokou at a glance when walking around the convention venue.
The process of shooting this photo set was incredibly fun. The lighting inside the ANE exhibition hall that day was quite complex, but it actually added a lot of wonderful light and shadow effects to these photos. Especially the simulated flame effect in the first picture, paired with the slightly blurred overhead lighting at the convention venue and the black platform boots I specially prepared—although it looks a bit heavy, it perfectly fits Mokou's setting of being ready to fight at any time with a touch of a "delinquent girl" aura.
In fact, every time I cosplay a character with long flowing hair, styling the wig takes quite a lot of time. I am very relieved that this white wig didn't get too frizzy despite all the moving around at the convention. In a few sitting photos, holding a talisman in my mouth was also a spontaneous, funny snapshot. In the original lore, she indeed has an entangled destiny with talismans, fire, and Kaguya Houraisan (laughs). The final result turned out to be quite lively. I hope everyone likes the texture of these convention photos for my casual cosplay memories; this trip to ANE was totally worth it!
