【Yoimiya cosplay】Genshin Impact Resplendent Feast Series: Yoimiya Kunshan ACG Convention photos - Image 1

The Convention photos from the August 8 Kunshan ACG Expo are finally sorted out today. From initial fittings to live on-site shooting, there were so many memorable moments worth recording about this Resplendent Feast Series: Yoimiya outfit for my Genshin Impact cosplay (Yoimiya cosplay).

First off, the silhouette and tailoring of this outfit truly tested attention to detail. The top features an orange bandeau bodice trimmed with wavy light-blue ruffles along the borders, creating bold, vibrant contrast. The sleeves on both sides are oversized detached lantern sleeves crafted from semi-sheer chiffon, which produced a glowing halo effect under the bright convention lights and proved exceptionally eye-catching during movement. The golden embroidered lines and firework motifs across the midriff are the core highlights of the entire garment; to ensure they retained sharp dimensional depth before the lens, I repeatedly adjusted the placement of the metallic chains and gemstone pendants to prevent them from shifting during poses. The red five-petal flower mark on my chest was a custom tattoo sticker—to ensure seamless blending along the edges, I tested several different materials before settling on the final one.

For the wig, to recreate that fluffy yet layered silhouette, I styled and set it well in advance. The pale peach fibers looked remarkably soft under outdoor light, with the blunt bangs trimmed right between my eyebrows and eyes, which, combined with the side-swept locks framing my cheeks, nicely sculpted my face contour. The silver hair accessories and red hair ribbons were added later; the positioning of the ribbons was especially critical during high-angle shots to ensure they didn't obscure my facial profile. As for makeup, light amber colored contacts paired with soft red blending along the lower eyelids brightened my gaze, while a pinkish jelly-finish lip gloss kept the overall complexion fresh and translucent, avoiding a heavy look in outdoor daylight.

Photographer @永恒violet opted for a high-angle overhead perspective this time, which seriously tests a cosplayer's posture control. Since looking down magnifies head proportions, I deliberately tucked my chin slightly, kept my shoulders relaxed and dropped, and placed both hands on my hips—a pose that not only flared out the exaggerated sleeves, but also showcased the tailored lines of the bodice to the fullest. The simple concrete-gray background subtly counterbalanced the visual intensity of the broad orange tones, keeping focus squarely on the character. Despite the massive convention crowds, the ambient diffuse lighting combined with fill lights created gorgeous transitions of light and shadow across the tiered pleated skirt and light blue hemline.

Honestly, whenever cosplaying a character with such intricate, multi-layered skirts, moving around and framing angles requires extreme care to avoid stepping on the fabric or creating awkward folds. My makeup and costume held up quite well on-site, and the black Mary Jane shoes with ankle straps also contributed significantly to elevating the overall sophistication. All in all, the light, shadow, and color fidelity of this set met my expectations completely, and I hope to carry this momentum into future events to continue enjoying the joy of roleplay with everyone!
