[Flandre Scarlet Cosplay] Touhou Project's summer beach swimsuit photoshoot

Today, I completed the swimsuit photoshoot of Flandre Scarlet from Touhou Project on the beach. The design of this outfit is very special; although it's a swimsuit, it retains many of Flandre Scarlet's original characteristics. The red-and-white color scheme is the foundation, and a large amount of lace and ruffles adds a gorgeous feel. The wide-brimmed hat on my head is simply a lifesaver for summer shoots, as it can block the dazzling sunlight while nicely modifying the face shape, making the light appear softer on the face. The small flowers and pearls dotted on the brim of the hat, along with those strings of colorful diamond-shaped pendants on the body, make the entire styling look very layered under the sunlight. Swimsuits with such complicated decorations are actually very difficult to handle on the beach because, with the slightest carelessness, the lace gets stained by sand, so I remained extremely cautious from changing clothes until the end of the shoot.
The highlight of this swimsuit lies in the details. The white lace on the chest is combined with red fabric, and there is a huge bow on the back. Although lying on the wooden box wearing it was a bit inconvenient, for the sake of the visual effect, none of this was a problem. The colorful diamond-shaped pendants on my body are actually quite exquisite; I needed to ensure they refracted different colors under the light, so I deliberately adjusted the angles during the shoot. The wig was easily messed up by the sea breeze outdoors, and during every break between shots, I would ask the makeup artist to restyle the hair to ensure the blonde hair maintained a perfect drape and fluffiness in front of the lens. In terms of makeup, I chose to intensify the eye makeup, using red-toned eyeshadow to echo the clothing, and the eyelashes were applied relatively densely, so that under the intense seaside light, the face could still maintain a three-dimensional feel.
The pose of lying on the wooden box in the second picture is an angle I personally like very much. This posture can showcase the tailoring of the outfit nicely and make the leg lines look slender. Although the sunlight on the beach was fierce, the rim lighting on the hair strands and the edges of the skirt hem shot under backlight was gorgeous. Because there were quite a few props, I had to constantly pay attention to the arrangement and position adjustments of the pendants during the shoot so they wouldn't look cluttered. The surface of the wooden box was actually somewhat rough, and lying on it required mastering the center of gravity while keeping the muscles of the upper body tensed so the body shape would look natural and fluid without appearing saggy. To showcase the sexiness and playfulness of this swimsuit, I tried slightly raising my legs, using body curves to construct geometric beauty, which could also be considered a little trick in the shoot.
The angle of lying down on the beach pillow and shooting upwards in the first picture was meant to showcase a lazy summer atmosphere. Viewed from a top-down perspective, the circular contour of the hat and the makeup styling on the face blend together very well. The supine posture has high demands on core strength, requiring tightening the abdomen to make the body look firm and curvaceous. Lying on the striped pillow, my line of sight needed to coordinate with the photographer's angle, trying to make my gaze look dreamy and full of a sense of story. The sunlight slanted from the side, casting nice highlights on the collarbones and shoulders, and the colorful bracelets on my wrists also became lively embellishments in the frame.
The entire shooting process was actually a test of physical stamina, requiring constant adjustment of postures on the beach while enduring sand and sea breeze. For sun protection, the exposed skin was covered with a thick layer of sunscreen, yet it could still exhibit a healthy glow under the lens. This swimsuit not only showed the cute side of the character but also incorporated a light-mature vibe suitable for a summer beach. At the end of the shoot, fine sand was everywhere on my body, and a lot of it was hidden in the lace of the clothes, making cleanup quite a hassle. But seeing how well the sunlight, beach, wooden box, and this exquisite swimsuit blended together in the finished photos, I felt all the hard work was completely worth it. Every outdoor shoot is actually a game of wits with natural light and the environment, and this summer beach experience has accumulated very rich experience for me. I look forward to trying more styles of different designs in the future and leaving behind good imagery in richer scenes.
