[Tendou Kei cosplay] Blue Archive: Sci-Fi Studio Shoot Log

For this Blue Archive Tendou Kei cosplay shoot, we chose an indoor studio set packed with sci-fi tech vibes. During the makeup and hair styling process, the main focus was perfecting the layers of the wig: the long white hair needed to stay voluminous yet well-behaved beneath the black headband, while the red contact lenses looked exceptionally clear and striking under the cool lighting. The pink geometric halo prop overhead was something I hand-crafted specifically for this shoot, using lightweight acrylic to make angle adjustments during shooting effortless.

Wardrobe-wise, this ensemble features rich layering. The outer layer is an oversized white-and-black color-blocked coat lined with vibrant pink edges, layered over a black blazer and white collared shirt, accented by a bright blue tie that delivers high color contrast. The bottom was paired with a dark pleated skirt and Black stockings. To highlight the character's cool and slightly detached demeanor, I opted for stockings featuring subtle cyan line accents, which not only faithfully recreate the original design but also flatter the leg lines nicely on camera. For footwear, black glossy patent loafers were chosen to add a hint of neat student charm.

The ambient lighting on set favored cool tones, with white server racks, multiple monitors, keyboards, and microscopes populating the backdrop—fitting her research-oriented persona perfectly. To harmonize with the setting, I designed several seated poses. The pose in Photo 3—sitting in the gaming chair with legs crossed—was meant to display the layered clothing silhouette while defining the leg contours. Photo 4 shifted my center of gravity to one side, resting one hand on the desk keyboard while the other adjusted my collar, evoking the candid moment of turning around in response to someone calling during a work pause.

The most crucial element during shooting was maintaining a composed expression without exaggerated emoting. I relied on subtle body language—such as finger placement and relaxed shoulders—to convey nuance. The lighting ratio on set was meticulously balanced, beautifully preserving the authentic textures of the Black stockings and the white outerwear. Later in post-processing, I added subtle starlight glow effects around the legs as a small creative touch, giving the frames an extra layer of mystery and dreaminess.

The overall pace of this studio shoot was very smooth, and the fully equipped set allowed me to immerse myself in character quickly. From prop crafting and styling details to the final imagery, everything aimed to stay true to my interpretation of her. I hope these photos successfully convey that unique blend of rationality and sci-fi aesthetic.
