Today I went to the mall to shoot a Rem Cosplay. The initial plan was to head straight to the kitchen set on the second floor. However, right after entering the mall entrance, I was stopped in my tracks by the wonderful aroma drifting from a bakery. Unable to resist, I decided to explore the shop first and bought a box of salted egg yolk pastries. I thought it was just an ordinary dessert, but when I took a bite, the sweet and savory balance of the salted egg yolk was executed perfectly, and the pastry crust flaked off delightfully with each bite—giving a sense of healing just like the character. For this shoot, I wore the classic Maid outfit featuring black-and-white lace ruffles, paired with a blue wig and hair ribbon. To capture the full aesthetic, I put extra effort into tuning the lighting on the kitchen set. Adding warm side lighting helped define the texture and layers of the blue hair while making the White stockings appear translucent and less reflective. Wearing White stockings is indeed very picky about lighting, but fortunately, the final photos turned out super satisfying. Additionally, to match the blue hair, I deliberately lowered the saturation of the eye makeup, using a grayish-blue palette with subtle soft-red details at the corners to make the eyes look more expressive. During the shoot, posing on the counter or sitting on a mat while holding the freshly bought dessert felt extremely fitting. I also tried other nicely packaged pastries from the store. Being a pastry lover with a passion for 2D daily life, it's hard not to be drawn to such charming packaging and tasty treats. Next time, I plan to wear Ram's red outfit to restock here; it should create a completely different spark. Overall, it was a very enjoyable shoot today, and cosplaying in this outfit was great fun.
