[Varesa Cosplay] The Playful Electro Character in Genshin Impact: A Perfect Recreation of Plush Horns and Pink-Teal Highlights - Image 1

This Varesa look finally came together for a studio shoot today. To capture her wild yet playful nature in Genshin Impact, we paid special attention to visual design through contrasting materials and colors.

Starting with the headpiece, the main pink hair color incorporates teal highlights around the bangs and sides, creating a light, striking color contrast. Side-braided hairstyles really test a wig's setting strength; to keep the braid fluffy and layered throughout the shoot, we spent considerable time adjusting strand directions during prep and styling. The pair of fluffy animal horns on top served as the most crucial accessory for this wig. We chose a black-and-white gradient plush fabric with black tips, wrapping gold bands at the horn bases. On the right base hung a dangling gold bell—slight head movements made the bell jingle softly, adding dynamic energy and vitality to the shots.

The outfit features classic paneling and layered construction. The thick white fluffy collar around the neck looks undeniably cute, though it naturally broadens the neck and shoulder area, so I paid close attention to neck and shoulder posture during mirror checks. The black top pairs with a metallic gold chest buckle and a bright blue bow in the center; this tri-color pairing prevents black from feeling dull, creating rich depth instead. The cream-yellow knitted detachable sleeves on my arms are a detail I love—the knit fabric inherently conveys a cozy, relaxed feel, while the teal accents at the cuffs and fingertips, complemented by matching teal nail polish, brought the overall color harmony together seamlessly.

The highlight of the lower body design lies in the asymmetrical thigh-high socks. The left off-white sock features a wide teal border at the top, a fluffy plush ball, red cross patterns, and red heart embroidery paired with black piping—hallmark features of 2D character design. The other side pairs a plain white sock; this asymmetrical contrast breaks monotony while visually flattering and elongating leg lines.

We also put a lot of thought into set design. The overall backdrop adopted a pink color scheme to build a dreamy, soft ambiance. Behind us stood a small white pedestal with a dainty strawberry cake, alongside a black silhouette cutout of a rabbit and a plush pink carpet covering the floor. These props gave the entire shooting environment a fairytale feel, delightfully underscoring Varesa's playful persona.

For lighting, we used a soft side-backlight behind the subject and side plush decorations to outline a glowing rim effect around the edges, making contours look soft rather than harsh. Since the outfit was packed with details—like the chest metal buckle and sock embroidery—we placed a soft key light in front to ensure clear visibility of every subtle highlight.

Though wearing everything was quite intricate—especially securing the plush horns onto the wig with numerous bobby pins—we could showcase different facets of this outfit through varied poses, such as sitting or turning slightly. The final photos capture a relaxed sitting pose, catching a lazy yet adorable vibe with the photographer's quick shutter. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable cosplay experience.
