[Fugue Cosplay] An Appointment at Central Starskiff Haven in Honkai: Star Rail

Shooting this set of Fugue Cosplay photos was back at the beginning of the year. The weather was still very cold then, but to recreate the atmosphere of Central Starskiff Haven, everyone insisted on completing all preparation work on the wooden platform.

As a Fox spirit cosplay performer, this look of Fugue is one of the most distinctive designs in Honkai: Star Rail. That gentle underlying color settled through time, combined with the unique agility of the Foxian tribe, allowed me to deeply sympathize with the character during the shoot. For makeup and styling, I specifically chose translucent green contact lenses to match the character's gaze, eschewing overly sharp lines in favor of warm brownish-pink eyeshadow to soften the eye area, while the lip color leaned toward a soft milk-tea tone. The fox ears on top and the gradient wig blending dark brown and reddish-brown visually restored the character's balance between natural grace and mysterious allure.

The details of this costume are truly intricate and admirable. The aura brought by the off-the-shoulder tailoring perfectly showcases collarbone lines, while the golden 3D flower accessories at the shoulders and waist possess rich color and a satisfying weight, requiring careful securing when sitting down or standing up on the wooden platform. I especially loved the feeling of holding that wooden-ribbed folding fan—the red-and-white vermilion patterns on the fan surface glowed with rich color layers under warm light. Going barefoot also fit the character design nicely, which, paired with pink petals scattered near my feet, made the whole look appear even more carefree and light.

The set design that day was executed with great care; the venue provided a Japanese-style wooden platform, misty gauze drapes, stone lanterns, and artificial blooming trees for Ancient style photography. A large amount of dry ice smoke was used during shooting, making the whole platform seem as if truly floating atop Central Starskiff Haven amidst the lingering wonderland mist. This atmosphere combining ambient light and natural textures gave every single frame strong storytelling depth. The post-processing photographer subsequently highlighted the textures of the reddish-brown hair strands and golden accessories while softening skin and preserving authentic light transitions, giving the final photos an oil-painting-like warmth and tranquility.

Actually, I accumulate quite a backlog of unreleased photos normally. Many photoshoots from the first half of the year remained in my albums due to scheduling and post-processing cycles without time to organize and post. This set of Fugue Cosplay from early this year was a hidden treasure dug up while clearing out my hard drive. Looking back, when taking these photos, we tried repeatedly to catch the exact moment when dry ice smoke was thickest. Everyone on the team diligently helped adjust prop angles and fan directions; although wrapping up late that day, seeing the initial raw photos in the camera made everyone deeply happy.

Being able to share this photo set today tying into the Qixi Festival topic feels like giving a nice little closure to our hard work from earlier this year. Every time I see myself wearing this outfit and the swaying fox tail, I can recall the scene in the studio with wind blowing and waving the folding fan. This set of works represents a milestone attempt in my character interpretation, and I hope the character's unique sense of free-spirited grace and gentleness can be conveyed to all of you through these photos.
