[Honor of Kings Daji Cosplay] A Wondrous Adventure in Alice's Wonderland Limited Rerun

For this Honor of Kings Daji cosplay photoshoot set themed around Alice in Wonderland, we chose an outdoor location with amusement park and circus-themed scenes, where the overall atmosphere matched the costume exceptionally well.

What I loved most about this look were the blue-and-white skirt frills and striped elements. The skirt incorporated multi-layered ruffles and stiff blue fabric, paired with a black-and-gold leather corset, creating a fairytale dreaminess visually without losing the character's sprightliness. The sleeves were cute puff sleeves combined with dark blue long fingerless gloves, making the arm lines look even sleeker. The fluffy bunny ears headpiece and the large white tail behind me were the soul of the outfit; together with the giant golden key prop at my waist, they gave a very tangible presence to the rabbit hole elements of Alice in Wonderland.

For hair and makeup, we used bright yellow wavy long curls with straight-cut bangs, and selected light blue contact lenses. Paired with a clear base and soft pink lip gloss, the eyes looked clear and innocent. To create that slightly playful texture from the original game art, the eye makeup specially emphasized eyelash length, with gentle blush, making the overall face look vibrant and energetic.

Photography and venue selection were key to this output. Thanks to photographer Xuefeng Dawang, we communicated the desired fairytale and amusement park location shoot atmosphere well before shooting. The third photo in front of the display window at The Grand Apple Hotel fully utilized the pink display cabinet and gift boxes as a background; paired with a single-leg lifted posture, it nicely elongated the body's visual proportions. The combination of blue-and-white striped stockings and high heels made leg lines much more defined, making it a full-body photo I am personally very satisfied with. Other snapshots in front of the circus red-and-white striped archway and blue high tower facilities also made great use of the high-saturation red, yellow, and blue colors in the scene, making the character stand out vividly in the frame.

The shooting process was actually quite challenging. Although the amusement park location shoot setting was full of playful charm, dodging crowd bystanders and finding suitable framing angles required getting into the groove very quickly. The sunlight was quite intense that day, making outdoor shooting heavily reliant on natural light angles—sometimes to catch a beam of light just piercing through clouds, a pose had to be held for quite a while. Though the blue-and-white striped high heels looked great, balancing on steps and lawns meant my core muscles had to be kept tight, which was also a test of body control.

As a very classic veteran hero in Honor of Kings, Daji cosplay naturally possesses high recognizability. This Alice in Wonderland limited skin abandoned the original heavy red and black tones in favor of a fresher and brighter palette of blue, white, black, and gold. This bold color reconstruction gave the character a completely distinct aura. When interpreting this styling, I didn't intentionally imitate the overly mature posture in the game, but rather strove to show a sense of innocence like stepping into Wonderland for the first time—like a little girl lost in an amusement park, full of curiosity about everything around her.

This shoot involved trying multiple scene stagings, including standing next to a huge circus sphere and sitting photos in front of a red curtain. Thought went into the composition behind every single photo to ensure prop completeness while keeping eye interaction with the camera lens. The moment I put on this costume, there was truly a feeling of stepping right into a fairytale world. Although the props and costume felt quite hot in summer, seeing the blue-and-white silhouette blend together with the vibrant backdrop in the final photos made all the hard work feel completely worthwhile. This recreation attempt also gave me more insights into character expressiveness.
