[Diaochan cosplay] Honor of Kings Default Skin: Love Can't Be Had Just by Wishing, but the Visuals Can

The pink tulle dress of this Honor of Kings Diaochan default skin has an exceptionally translucent texture; during the shoot, I paid constant attention to positioning the skirt hem to ensure the layered depth between the tights and sheer fabrics was cleanly captured by the lens.

Since this is the default skin design, costume fidelity was paramount. The overall palette centers on pink and white, with fabrics featuring fine, shimmering highlights. To prevent glare on the metallic chest ornaments and inlaid gemstone details, multiple softboxes were used during shooting. The headpiece combines pink-and-white lotuses with golden hairpins, and the long red ribbons on both sides flutter naturally when slightly bowing the head or turning the body, adding dynamic flow in this Ancient style cosplay look.

Pairing White tights cosplay with clear high-heeled sandals was a highlight of this look, with the golden ankle straps echoing the lines of the skirt hem. To showcase leg lines, I tested various sitting poses during breaks—such as sitting sideways with one leg extended or bending the legs. The studio floor was covered with a white plush mat and silver reflector paper underneath, allowing overhead high-angle shots to capture the detailed reflections of the white tights and the silhouette of the petticoat.

The set construction featured wooden carved screens and dark wood flooring, accessorized with pots of pink-and-white blossoms and classical scroll props. The photographer used purple-pink backlighting to cultivate a dreamy ambiance; the purple rim light filtering from behind softened my overall appearance. Because the lighting leaned warm, the makeup intentionally emphasized eyeshadow and blush to prevent the camera from washing out facial definition. The default skin's skirt hem is expansive—blooming like a flower when seated—which required ample time to arrange the fabric so folds fell naturally without messy creases.

Regarding the caption's line, "Love can't be had just because you want it," when shooting an Ancient style cosplay role carrying this cool, fragile allure, it is indeed easy to immerse into the character's emotions. Although adjusting poses and lighting took extensive effort—such as maintaining an upright posture while keeping shoulders relaxed, and focusing on the eye-line angle toward the lens—seeing the final photos confirmed that the airy, ethereal grace was well-captured.

Post-production mainly adjusted color saturation toward a dreamy pink-purple wonderland aesthetic. This shoot fulfilled my long-held wish to cosplay the default skin. I hope this photo set conveys her intrinsic atmospheric charm.
