[Mai Shiranui cosplay] Mai Shiranui in Honor of Kings: Folding Fan in Hand, Aura Fully Unleashed

The Mai Shiranui I'm cosplaying this time is my main hero in Honor of Kings. Ever then I decided to cosplay her, I put a lot of thought into the outfit and props. The fabric texture of this blue and white color scheme dress is highly unique. To recreate the layered design from the game, the tailoring of the sleeves and the connection of the shoulder straps were readjusted several times to ensure it can support that sharp yet flowing martial arts feel after putting it on.

The mark on the forehead was hand-painted with special pigments, its color and shape cross-referenced with the original artwork repeatedly, and the colored contact lenses were also chosen to be an ice blue that matches the character. The overall makeup tone was lowered in saturation to better highlight the spirit of the eyes. The folding fan prop was specially customized, featuring a vivid white fox pattern on it. The hand-feel when opening and closing it was also very important; it felt smooth when holding it to strike various poses during the shoot, avoiding any awkwardness of not being able to hold it securely.

The shooting environment was selected with a backdrop of Japanese bamboo curtains and wooden tables. The warm yellow light hitting my face perfectly countered the cool-toned clothing, adding a touch of gentle atmosphere to the frame. I think Mai Shiranui's charm is inseparable from her combat posture, but in static photos, maintaining a focused gaze and a confident smile can similarly convey the character's spirit. This shoot experimented with several different angles, including a lazy feel leaning against the table, as well as a sharp feel holding the fan, bringing a touch of real-life flavor to her in-game persona. Every time I shoot cosplay, I encounter new challenges, but the process of solving them is exactly when I truly enjoy this hobby. This set of work integrates many of my own thoughts from the Cosplay costume to the final finished photos, and I hope everyone can see my passion for this character through this beautiful piece of Ancient style cosplay.
